Well I did it! I’ve gained everything back that I lost. Forget a six-pack I now have a keg. Time to work on getting down to a pony keg or buy a moomoo or a nice poncho.

I finally got a copy of Championship Bodybuilding and I have to say what a useful book! It has all the bits of information that are out there brought together. Workout, diet, form, nutrition, just about everything. The best part is its not a sales pitch like most books of this kind. I used it for my biceps workout and got the best burn I’ve had in a long time. Simple, no hype book, that I would recommended to anyone just starting out or stuck.

Its to cold! I’m so ready to run outside. Never thought I would say those words. As I learn more about timing cardio and lifting I’m finding my schedule is not tops. To bad the roads here are covered in ice and my gym is over a half hour away. I think once I can do cardio at home i’ll start to make some better gains (or fat loses). I would buy my own cardio machine but I have to move in June and who knows if I’d have room. Anyway I’m still in it and I’m sure there are many people in the same boat. Who knows maybe I’ll have a gym closer once I move!

I think I have how I need to cut weight figured out. Thanks to everyone who helped point me in the right direction. I think my food is almost where it should be, but I need to step up on the cardio. So far the plan is a mix of HIIT, steady state, and a little fun mixed in. Its winter in Michigan so that makes "fun cardio" harder when its 20 below outside but I’ll take the kids sleeding, sweat to the oldies for a chuckle(its does work up a sweat), and maye that Wii Fitness everyones been buying. With a little more heart I’ll be 25K richer!

Now it time to hit the gym hard I’m going to do my best to place in the muscletech contest. Even if I don’t I should see a great transformation. Good Luck to everyone giving it a shot. I have added motivation because my wife is looking at gastric bypass and i don’t want to be left behind. Of course $25000 would more than pay for her surgery either way I want us to share in a healthy transformation.

I made some good gains this year but fizzled by the end. I could have done better and now I’m getting ready to. For the first 3 months of 2009 I’m committing to trying to win the Muscletech challenge. I have a week or so to get my plan together. The workout part I’ve always been good at planning it’ll just take heart to drive it. The food I’ve always had trouble getting right, its my downfall. Hopefully I can figure it out and rock this contest (and achieve a new body). Any help on the food part would be helpful. Right now I plan a month of strength building, then size, then leaning for a month. Since I’m currently inactive I expect to lean some during the beginning just by being active.

The plates are unpacked, the dungeon dark ,the music blasting. Time to begin. Time to sweat. Time to push it. The goal is distant, the heart is pounding, the flab is falling, the muscles are aching. Time to begin the work.

Well things have gone slow on the workout front. I’m in the middle of moving so its been suffering. The good news is I’ll have room at the new house for more equipment, and not have to rely on our below average gym. No more missing workouts because they close at 5pm. I’ll even have a workout partner, i just need to pick up a couple more weight plates, and a basic cable machine when I have the cash. Right now my workout and diet is suffering, but after the move is done I should be making some very transforming gains.
