First Client Extremely Happy

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

My very first client has just finished her first 6 week workout regime. It had to only be 6 weeks because she was heading off to visit her daughters who live in Ontario, Canada for the month of June. I put together a very rigorous propgram and only because she had been going to the gym for 7 years did I think that she could handle it. She changed her eating habits even though her husband did/does nothing to support her and still wants his meat and potatoes at 6PM like always and she managed to make him his favorite foods while putting together nutricious protein rich, good carb meals for herself. At the gym this lady was a dynamo and learned all about proper form and progression etc. and pulled, lifted rowed and curled along with cardioing her way through what would normally be a 12 week program crammed into just 6.

We took her measurements at the beginning and at the end of 6 weeks and she was so ecstatic that she hugged me and was telling anyone/everyone who she could tell that they need to hire me and she was gushing so much I was actually embarassed but she had good reason to be so happy because overall she had lost 17 1/2 inches from her entire body.

This was not my doing I told her but it was her hard work and dedication and committing to a 3 on 1 off program and never being late or missing a session that led to her drastic changes. Her weight only went down 10 lbs but her body fat dropped 12% and with the overall drop in inches she looks many years younger.

I am so pleased for her and I wish that all trainers everywhere could work with such dedicated individuals.

Beverly International Supplements not allowed into Canada

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

I am reaching out through this blog and I will also post in the forum about the supplements from the company called Beverly International not being allowed into Canada and if anyone knows why or if there is anywhere Canada where I can get them.

This just seems to be another of those useless rules that are formed by a bunch of eager beaver political types who are on guard against anything that may prove healthy and beneficial, anyway if anyone out there can assist me I will be very greatful.

Taking a well deserved break

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

After completing the very strenuous Body for Life Challenge (12 weeks) and then continuing to workout on a 3 on 1 off schedule for the next 8 weeks along with training a client I find myself getting very tired and belive that i need a short time off. That being the case I am going to go to the coast of Oregon with my wife for a week and do nothing but be tourists and savor the local food and beverages.I find the Seaside/Cannon Beach areas of oregon to be amazing and hope to find nothing but rest and relaxation.

Training someone!

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

Along with working out, losing weight and getting in shape  I received my Personal Trainers Certificate and have been training my first client for a while. She is the same age as me (58) and has been going to the gym (same one as me) for almost 7 years and has not been able to change her shape or lose any weight. After checking her previous exercises and form I was able to figure out why she did not have any success and I have her on a program where she can really do well. I was worried that my artificial leg would turn people off and that they might shy away from wanting to have me work with them but she said that it gives her motivation to see, first the weight that I lost and the shape that I am in now but also the fact that I have gone through this with an artificial leg. Wow, who knew.

I am proud and honored to be a part of Bodybuilding.com and look forward to seeing what I can do to help myself get into better shape and then to possibly be able to assist others.
