I have no skin pigment. Seriously, I am not an albino, but my skin is thin (see-thru in some places) and white. I sometimes wonder if this is a curse. I can spend maybe an hour in the sun. Make it two if I wear SPF45. If I’m out more than that, I will be rosy pink the next day, in a bit of pain. I’ve tried the fake tans. The newer ones are great. However, they don’t offer any added protection, so if I look good that’s nice but it still doesn’t mean I can spend more than an hour or so in the direct sun while looking nice on the beach. See, that’s the curse part.
Honestly, it’s not so bad. It’s like anything - you get used to it. However, there are times when I wish it was easier to have some color. I can’t exactly go around wearing protan year round.
Today is an arms day. That should be fun this evening! With any luck, my meetings won’t go long and I’ll get out early. I need some down time to take care of the little things I never seem to have time for - like a freakin’ haircut. I’m starting to look like a hippie!
