Settling down. Yes, things are going to settle down. I can feel it in my guts. (How many guts, exactly, do I have?)
Anyway, we are still (yes, still) in a hotel. Our relo agent has found us some properties, but they all have their issues. Meanwhile, we’re getting by with our 2-burners. The good news is we can get coffee anytime we want!
I’ve been super good about getting in my workouts, but my nutrition is not the best. I can already see ways to improve and am looking forward to taking action once I can actually make food again! Honestly, the carbs I have had (yes, some bread) are just wreaking havoc on my system. My body does not like carbs much anymore. After a 17 week cut and then 2 months of clean bulking, my body really prefers good fats & proteins to even the best carbs. However, I am forcing myself to eat some, because I know my body responds better to them (and it’s something to eat, LOL).
As I was saying, the relo agent did find some places - one of which we are hoping to move into next weekend. I can’t believe it, but we have been living in hotels for about a month now. …and hotel living SUCKS! Don’t get me wrong, I like having someone make my breakfast every morning and clean up after me. It is just nice, though, to know that you can go "home" at the end of the day rather than back to "the room". My poor 3y/o is going stir-crazy, even with the regular outdoor time. Most of his toys are in boxes waiting for us to have the room to unpack them. We’re doing our best to minimize TV time and movies, but he really does need some further stimulation! Hopefully, as I said, we’ll have an address next week and that will all resolve itself.
Work is crazy and the language barrier does exist, despite my lessons and general yearning to be properly educated in German. I can communicate with most people fairly effectively, but sometimes if someone catches me off-guard I am totally oblivious to what they are saying. It’s odd to have to concentrate so hard on what others are saying or what you’re going to say to them.
Well, my son is finally asleep, so I can go on with the rest of the evening now. I have to plan out our day tomorrow, as I’m playing "tour guide" through downtown Stuttgart!
