OK, now I’m just mad. I was at the gym, slapping plates onto the bar to do some serious benching. …and I couldn’t even put up 180? I guess that 2 week break did result in some strength loss. I’m betting I’ll be back at 200 in the next 2 weeks, but it still made me angry. I guess that anger was good for the rest of the workout because I didn’t have any other problems with "loss of strength" after that. Perhaps the problem was an improper warm-up. I always struggle with warm-ups. I’m never sure what the appropriate weight / # of reps is to ensure I’m warm without taking heavy reps away at the end of my working sets. I hope that’s clear.
So, today is going to be a crazy day filled with back-to-back-to-back meetings at work. I hate it when most of my day is just talking with people about work I’ve done or work I will do. I mean, just let me do my job. If you want to talk, I’ll give you a 5 minute update over the phone. I’m so personable sometimes.
I just hate being needlessly busy. "Busy work" drives me insane. I loathe doing a task only to appease others and providing no real value to my employer or my work. I know it is a necessary evil of business in the modern age (status reports, quarterly statements, blah blah blah), but it is truly not my cup of tea.
Oooh, tea! That reminds me: I have some green tea I was hoping to try today. I haven’t had green tea in awhile and I really would like to get back to drinking it. Of course you can never replace coffee, but I do like the earthy flavor of a solid tea.

Weeeeeeell, Jay.
That drop in your bench (and ONLY your bench) is a mere 10%, not a TON after being away for 2 weeks and accounting for your body adjusting to all the confusion of time changes and such! The first week of workouts after I travel, I expect almost everything to drop, but usually by the week after, all is fine. But I can see why that would tick you off. At least that fueled you to really push through your other weights, though!
"Busy work" is horrible. What’s worse is waiting for other people to show up to a busy work status meeting, and wasting even more time! LOL!!
I hope you are in a much better mood by now, Jay.
Brew that tea, take a deeeeeeep breath, enjoy being back home, and take things all in stride today.

That’s definitely frustrating when the weights are lower (mine were less today, too, after a week layoff) or when the running times have slowed, but you’ll get back to status quo in no time! As for meetings - most worthless invention/idea ever… so unproductive and inefficient of everyone’s time!
