Monastery Music & Pushing for 1 More Rep

Ahh the only thing better than pumping iron to the sounds of Michael W. Smith’s Friends song is pumping iron to the Christmas Shoes song! I’M USING SARCASM TO THE FULLEST EXTENT POSSIBLE!!! However, the gym I go to plays this type of music over the entire building. Talk about a buzz kill. I don’t think any amount of N.O. Explode can make up for the damage done to ones "pump" these songs cause.

Don’t get me wrong. The message of these songs is not my complaint, and in the right setting I actually like these songs. But when I’m under weight that could crush my face the last thing I want is a sappy song effin with my focus.

Thank goodness for iPods. I use mine everytime I’m at the gym. Some times, though, I take it off so it doesn’t get in my way. It’s those moments that give me something to blog about.

Oh my, I feel your pain. Gym music should be fast, harsh, and rocking! I’m not a fan of loud - but I think that no music is the best and let everyone bring their IPod, MP3 Player, or whatever. Me, I just like the music of the weiights clanging together and the grunts and groans of the lifters (haha).

OMG, are you serious? I can’t imagine that blaring in the background.

No what’s worse? Setting the dial on the radio and getting on the tread mill, only to have a song end and the announcer wants to talk for the next 5 minutes. I’ve come to hate morning radio. I don’t mind a little talking, but it sure is hard to jog to.

Haha. Music has a big effect on how I do. I wish the people who worked at the gym realized how much people rely on music to help with their workouts.
