Giving Up The Cheat Meal

Yesterday was the last game of my daughter’s soccer season. All week I was saving my cheat meal for the after party at CiCi’s Pizza and the later birthday party at Chuck E Cheese’s. Well, when we showed up to both places, I wasn’t hungry, so I didn’t eat my cheat meal. Skipping the cheat meal got me to thinking…

Altogether I’m taking in about 3800 calories a day. Being a vegetarian at this level of calories means I’m eating a lot all freakin day! I definitely am not depraved of good and tasty food so why do I "need" a cheat meal? My conclusion is I DON’T NEED IT.

I’m going to see how long I can go without having a cheat meal. I’ve given up fast food, alcohol and drugs. Now I want to push myself to see if I can give up my cheat meal. It shouldn’t be too hard considering I usually feel like crap after I eat it anyway.

I havent had a cheat meal or any alcohol in a month now. My goal is to make it till after Thanksgiving. I got one more week to go. One in a month or so is a good time frame for me for now. Good luck to you. Push yourself farther than you think you can go.

WOW… dude, I would love to get a couple of normal days meals that you do… I have a hard enough time getting in 3200 good calories a day…
I found out that 400 of my daily calories are just from the shear ammount of coffee that I drink in a day…(4 cups extra strong)

I agree that I usually regret eating the "cheat" meal. Usually it’s a social occasion like your soccer game. With the amount of food you eat you sure don’t need it because you’re hungry! So go for it. The idea of a cheat meal is all psychological anyway. If your head is solid around the commitment, then you should be fine.

I’m with you on that! I’ve done away with cheat meals myself.

I believe cheat meals have a place, but for me that place is only special occasions for the most part. Dinner with friends, etc. If I don’t have anything going on, I don’t do it. And I usually feel way better the next day.

Thanks for the add, man - keep up the great work.

I hear you bro. I started this sugar fast last monday and i am on day 7 right now. Thanksgiving day there was pies and cake everywhere and i didn’t even want it. I don’t know how this will end up but right now i’m doing great without it. will it be a permaneant thing? only time will tell.
