Venting!

**Warning! If you are a large person and you don’t care about your health, and working out.. You shouldn’t read this**

I have no sympathy for fat people who don’t try, none at all!  I work in an office environment and I look around me and all I see is flat fat asses.  Not that it bothers me, but I get made fun of constantly by my co-workers.  They make comments when I’m eating my veggies and the crap pushers are all having a potluck with Fried this, and butter topped that.  One large guy co-worker often jokes by saying “You are so thin, if you needed an X-ray done they would just have to hold you up to a bright light and they could see through you.”  Not to mention that it’s a cheesy NOT funny comment, but to hear it SEVERAL times a month is just flat out annoying!  I’ve gotten to the point where I simply pipe back at him and say “it’s because I eat right and go to the gym, maybe you should try it.” One time a lady co-worker was trying to encourage a couple of other co-workers to start a support group to lose weight.  The lady approached one of the largest flat butts on the floor that happens to sit very close to me.  The lady was very optimistic and positive about starting this support group and made a great effort to encourage the large flat butt lady to join.  After a few minutes of discussion I over heard the Large flat butt lady say “No I don’t want to participate.  I think I would like to live in denial a little bit longer.”  ARE YOU JOKING ME!! I was absolutely floored when I overheard this.  This is the SAME lady that has a bag of cookies on her desk, and brings chocolate cakes to work to “share” with everyone else.  This is the SAME large flat butt lady that I can hear huffing and puffing down the hall way when she comes into work, plops down in her chair and puts on her tiny desk fan and blows it into her sweaty face.  And I KNOW she didn’t take the stairs, so there’s no reason for her to be this exhausted!  I am just amazed that some people DON’T CARE that they can barely move, or that they can’t fit into normal chairs.  How could you jeopardize your health like that and sit back with a bag of chips and watch yourself get larger and larger!  I give MAJOR props to those people who make an attempt to work out and stick with it.  It is hard, and it does take time, and effort and it DOESN’T happen over night.  But to sit there and complain, and not do anything about it, I just want to be like “shut up.”

I get tired of people giving me nasty looks when I mention I still have progress to make when it comes to my body.  I do have goals and all though I KNOW I am thin, I don’t have a negative body image of myself.  Believe me, I’m not going to get an eating disorder cause I happen to LIKE food and plus it will mess up gaining muscle!  So what if I don’t want to have a “Beyonce” body, THAT’S NOT ME!  I want to be fit and I want to have a low body fat % and all the negative lazy fatty’s out there can kiss my toned butt!

hell yes…….at 5′7 209, i would have had nothing to say but, yeah, your right, a little effort and sometime through the week, just a few measley hours to get off your duff and get to the gym, go swimming, start some kind of exercise………..

a buddy of mine from the navy had a weight problem, and I can attest, he worked his ass off 2x a day, generally twice as hard as your average guy in the service, and had no results, so, not everyone has the same issue, but, all it takes is getting your head in the right place, and making a gola, and sticking to it. Like most everyone, I LOVE food, i just learned to take it in moderation, and get my ass to the gym.

Interesting, I guess everybody struggles with different things, might be food or other things, we all have some destructive behaviors in life, for example I don’t drink or smoke, and have a hard time understanding why people do, we all know those things are not healthy, or how about something as simple as giving our body enough rest at night. What I totally agree with you is that I do not understand why people have destructive behaviors and why we ALL have such a hard time understanding that we shoudl fix them.

It’s the same, where I work. And, it’s a hospital! I ACTUALLY had another nurse tell me, "I don’t understand why I’m not losing wieght." She had her own personal dozen of Winchell’s doughnuts in front of her, and was shoving them in, as she said that.

What kills me is that the stupid Body Mass Index had to be altered because the national average has gone up. So me at 5′7" 126lbs, puts me at ~18 bmi right, borderline underweight. 1. dumb scale only for fat people who need some sort of affirmation that they are normal, 2. what the hell! I am in great shape. Obesity has become the only acceptable disease in this country, they laugh about it amongst themselves for god’s sake, and then we get crucified because we care about our health. Thanks for giving me a chance to vent as well. Don’t let the fat/sugar pushers get you down… Look at it this way, we have wayyy more fun shopping, and bikini season doesn’t require 6 months of prep time. Rock on sister.

The work place has become the absolute worst area to keep in shape. At my work, whenever someone has a birthday, the company goes out and buys a cake. That’s fine with me, but you wouldn’t believe the nasty looks I get when I say that I really don’t want a piece. It is a joke! And most of the ladies that I work with are married so they don’t feel the need to do any extra work to make themselves look better. But they are always the ones who complain about their husbands.

ya i eat healthy all day at work and people are like oh like you really need it i just say you know what, theres a reason i look like this. then god forbid i have a godamn beer, they are like OOOH U EAT ALL HEALTHY THEN YOU DRINK A BEER. im like go to hell, while they were eating up all their calories munching big macs i was eating a plain ass tuna sandwhich and salad. im allowed to have a beer as for the fatties, no beer for you.

LOL! This is funny! I read your post laughing out loud. Thanks for the laugh. Not only your co-workers have no idea what they are talking about, but most importantly they lack the self-control it takes to be you and everybody else who takes care of their health and body image. I feel sorry for people like that. Not because they are fat, I myself find comfort in food and like to indulge, but for the fact that their defense mechanism tells them to attack instead of being inspired by you. They choose to remain in denial, that’s fine for as long as they don’t project their ways on you. Don’t be bothered by their pathetic attempts to make themselves feel better. They are just intimidated by you, and they know they are really the targets for the jokes. Intimidate them back by standing your grounds firmly and stay cool! As far as x-ray goes you can tell them they wouldn’t be able to get an x-ray because of the weight limit on the x-ray table. ;0)

this blog completely sums up my day at work! I swear they make up peoples birthdays just to have another birthdat party with fatty foods for free. Of course i stand in the lunchroom with them while they "party" and say no thanks to everything offered ("you on another diet?" No, the same one that has kept me at a healthy weight for the last ten years - thanks)Im so sick of them looking in the microwave at my veggies and chicken "More veggies for lunch, we’re having fish and chips" Yes and the ass to match I see!
Thanks for the great blog - I will keep reading!

I just read your comment about the fat asses in the office. I love it. I’ve been heavy for a while but I’ve recently TOTALLY changed how I eat and I’ve been working out and reading blogs on this site. It’s very inspirational. Large people don’t know any other way to eat. Reading your blog is totally inpiring to me!!!!!! I love how dedicated you are to your diet. I’m just learning how to do that. I’m very picky about what I eat. It’s funny to watch people’s expressions when I eat healthy food because they just expect me to eat bad I guess. People get intimidated by someone who is healthy or trying to be healthy! Thanks for your honesty and inspiration. You look awesome!!!!!!

  17. Tommytjh Says:

I couldn’t agree more! there is so much information out there! its just plain laziness with these people and they make other people lazy to!

The worst ones are the fat and proud types, they think its cool to be fat, and that we’re the odd, vain health freaks. Bloody salad dodgers!!

I don’t to bring the tone down but they have a fat smell to them also!!

    That is all!!

  18. Maisa Says:

I agree with you. I ended up having to say that I have an allergy to most of those foods. If it is a health problem they will understand that you dont want to eat fatty things. If it is only a choice of being healthy they will never understand it. There is always one or two cool coworkers that make sure to order salad everytime they order pizza for the office. Sometimes I just want to quit my finance job and get into being a personal trainer so I dont have to deal with people that behave like that.
Take care, you are doing the right thing for you and your body.

  19. Andrew Kim Says:

Why are you taking any notice from fat people?

Fat people usually have so much to complain and they have to put other people down to make themselves feel happy.

My wife is 6ft and weighes 120lb and I’m sick of fat people trying to put her down.

I wouldn’t waste my time and energy and rather do another rep in the gym.

    Andrew
