High Intensity Cardio Training
Wednesday, February 6th, 2008I have been running/jogging for several years now. I like the way I feel physically after a good run. About a week ago I decided to start doing more "sprint" exercises like I did back in high school in an effort to lose the fat not the hard-earned mass I’ve maneged to scrape together. Here is what I’ve been doing…
1. Stretch 2-3 min.
2. 1 mile warm-up Run/jog (8:00 min mile pace)
3. HIIT sprint cycle: run 1/2 lap (.125 mile), then walk 1/2 lap on track (or treadmill) for 2-3 miles depending on the day.
4. Cool-down with a 1/2-1 mile walk.
All this takes from 35-53 min depending on how long I do the HIIT cycle. Once done, I go right into my normal weight routine. I like how I feel after the cardio, it makes me sweat more during the workout which I know is burning more calories than without the cardio. I post up again in a couple of weeks or so to say how it’s going. Keep pressing friends. BOBBY
