Cheating…with the diet. Changing things up.

Alright, I have been slacking off the past 3 weeks with my diet discipline.  The ab project is still ongoing…I feel very good seperation in there and they are hard…but that last, stubborn layer of fat will not disappear (only a pinch or so but enough to keep them from showing).  I know why.

So 2 days ago I started my very clean…high lean protein, high fiber (veggies, salad and a little fruit), with low bad carbs.  I am also going to re-institute my 3 days a week running/cardio plan.  So I am adjusting my goal date because I cheated and have not been as disciplined as I should have been…bad me.  Admitting the problem is the first step in "recovery" so I’ve heard and so…it starts again.

I have been making good strength gains lately…which is nice…but the abs are illusive.  I am also changing my training split.  This is what I am going to try for the next couple of months.

Day 1 (Fri) - Chest/Bi’s;

Day 2 (Sat) - Thighs/Abs/Calves;   (Sun) - OFF

Day 3 (Mon) - Shoulders/Traps;

Day 4 (Tues) - Back/Tri’s/Abs;

Day 5 (Wed) - Hams/Glutes;

Day 6 (Thur) - Calves/Abs

So, I will see how this goes for a while.  So still working on the abs (cardio & diet), and the 400lb bench (I love the bench :) ), the 800 lb squat and growing the calves.

Thanks for looking at this…not sure anyone does…but thanks if you did. :)

    LoL! (not sure anyone reads this). We do just not every time does someone respond. Kudos to you for sttting your goals and getting on track. I alway do really good with diet except for vacation recently. Now I have to take alittle break from working my lower body and cardio and I hate it. But It is necessary for the healing of my vein surgery.May I suggest not doing abs on your thigh day? You need those abs if you are doing heavy squats.:)

    See, now that is good advice. Thank you. Good luck with your recovery.

    Thanks for the advice! :)

    Yeah, we check it out, B. Don’t always take/make the time to comment. That’s the problem with an on-line community. It’s not real community at all–or, at least, not as real as the one right where you live; but, yes, we (we? I!) do check in once an awhile–just to see how you’re doing.

    Thanks D for the comment brother. I do appreciate you checking up on me…it does help me stay disciplined knowing folks are watching. Appreciate that friends.

    God Bless!

    Hey Bulldog … try drinking more water. Shoot for 2 gallons a day, if you are only doing about one. I carry around two gallon jugs and refill them every night so I know that I have gone through the water that I need. I generally drink the first gallon by the time I have finished my workout in the early AM. My previous workout partner of mine took my advice that way and his abs started coming through and he got pretty tripped out it was something that simpl. The extra water not only helps you metabolize the fat, but also it sends the message to you body that "there is plenty of water available so I don’t need to hang on to it…" You might find yourself competing with your wife for the bathroom [lol], but it will help you shed excess water weight. Give it a try.

    Are you still following this program? How do you like the pairing of the torso bodypart with arms but instead of back/biceps which are usually done, you’re doing back and triceps.

    Maybe instead of starting out with running, just take fast long distance walks.
