Weekend CatchUp

Monday, April 27th, 2009

 

SATURDAY
GHEESH! I feel like a sloth today…I am moving slow today because my booty is SORE! and my BRAIN is slow today because I am full of hormones, lol! It’s a good thing it’s Saturday and I don’t “have to” do much of anything….

Yesterday turned out to be a good workout day for me, I did LEGS! Just before my workout I ate eggs and a banana~ EGGS and LEGS go good together!

Anyhow I did a bunch of body weight squats during my workout and was HAPPY with that because I haven’t been able to do the motion of a squat without pain for over a month~ YAY!! I am healing up nicely!! The massage I had on Wed really seemed to help my back/hip…I guess I’ll have to have another one then! Massage

In addition to squats I did a few more exercises yesterday:

Dead lifts (with 15 pound db’s)

Bulgarians

leg press (seated)

leg extensions

walking lunges

leg curls

lower back extensions

knee ups

full extension sit ups

I’m gonna do a good back workout today and hopefully run a bit on the treddy…my butt is so sore though I may have to do some other kind of cardio

SUNDAY 
 HI! I Just got home from church!! My pastor had a GREAT message about DECIDING, DECLARING and taking ACTION~ I am FIRED UP!!!

I also found out that my church has a new website New Life Christian Center where you can watch and listen to messages from my pastor~ I am excited about that!

I feel so much more rested today~ and am getting very excited for the week ahead. I have 49 days to go until my birthday and I’m going to rock it!! Yesterday I went to Sam’s Club and bought a bunch of yummy things to eat: tomatoes, salmon, chicken, talapia, peppers, cucumbers, green beans, lettuce, pineapple, strawberries, etc…I plan to eat healthy this week!

My plan of attack for my second week of boosting looks a little like this:

Monday-Chest, run

Tues-legs

Wed-off

Thurs-Upper body, run

Fri-legs

Sat-run

Sun-off

I also have a bunch of work to do this week~ IT’s time to ROCK and ROLL!! time to TAKE ACTION!!!

GIVE and take

I’ve been thinking today a bit about GIVING…over the past several years I’ve really been blessed because of what I’ve GIVEN to God, to my friends, to my clients and to perfect strangers who’ve found me on the internet through a blog post, picture, etc …it is true that when you GIVE you do RECEIVE.

…Giving also can create vulnerability: Giving opens us up to be hurt, disappointed or feeling like we’ve been taken for granted. I’ve often felt hurt or disappointed and that my giving has been taken for granted many times — BUT!— the Blessings I’ve received from GIVING always outweigh the pain. Staying focused on the positives of giving always makes me want to give more and help more people and love more!! I don’t ever want to get jaded or fearful regarding how my GIVING will be received. Don’t EVER be Afraid to GIVE!! Your blessings will COME!!

I’ve had a couple GREAT days~ Tues night we had another family bonfire and then yesterday Travis “kidnapped” me for a date day~ we had a BLAST together just talking and loving each other! It was wonderful!!! We didn’t workout yesterday, but we did make it there today for a chest workout.

AND GUESS WHAT??!!! I hit an all time personal Best on bench a #155 one rep max!!

The rest of my day has been spent on website stuff and cleaning my house. I am also planning on going running after my salmon digests smile

Web Brain!

Oh my…I have WEB-BRAIN…I’ve been reading, learning, searching, testing, website stuff for the past 2 days~ YUCK! LOL!!

I am trying hard to figure out what type of STORE application I should integrate into my webiste. I even bought a shopping cart and built some of it only to realize it’s capabilities are NOT what I need. It looks rather nice, but I am pretty sure it won’t allow for RR subscriptions or HT Pill subscritptons- www.buffmother.com/store

Anyhow…I have been sitting behind this computer way too much over the past 2 days~ I have WEB-BRAIN!

I did manage to get in a small leg workout yesterday~ my poor hip/back are still making leg workouts hard. BUT, at least I can do something…and tomorrow I am getting a massage in hope of helping the issue The yay yippee guy I haven’t had a massage in MONTHS!!

My eats are good and getting better!! It was hard sticking to my diet last night, but I did good!!! I’m gonna keep journaling my diet, it works!!

Well, I gotta go~ I’m heading to the gym to tan and workout!

Back At It

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

 

I got back at it yesterday with 2 sessions of cardio/intervals that added up to over an hour!!! The yay yippee guy

My first session was fasted: a run and 6 killer 20 second intervals (Tabata style)
then some abs too…

Then later I went to the gym and rode the r-bike for 15 mins…the last 4 mins of which were 8 Tabata style intervals. Then I hopped on the stair mill and did 20 mins of intervals (10 total)…In 20 mins I climbed 117 floors and decided that I’ll challenge myself to get more floors climbed each time I do them.
After the stair mill I did 3 sets of walking lunges and the hip abduction machine.

Today, I am gonna get to the gym with DH and do some upper body lifting and maybe some intervals after it. THEN I am supposed to take pics and measurements~ eeek!!! I am not tooo excited about that because I ate pizza last night…Which was STUPID! I had a tummy ache from it and ended up breaking my NO DAIRY challenge. Emotional It’s c-day 19 here and yesterday I could feel my hormones starting to ramp up….soooo I plan to JOURNAL my eats this week. Hopefully that will help me keep in check!

Tonight the UFC event is on Pay-per-view TV~ so you know what I’ll be watching!!!

Weekly Q! Activity

I’ve been thinking a lot about all the fun adventures that are possible in our life…As a child NO activity was off limits or out of reach… 

Biking, hiking
Swimming
fishing, juggling, dodge ball,
pogo sticks, stilts
go carts, mini bikes
And SPORTS (soccer, football, baseball, softball, track and field, volleyball, basketball) of all types filled my life. 

As I get older I want to regain some of the FUN times in life…i want to enjoy a very ACTIVE life. Over the next few months I plan to re-integrate more variety into my fitness.
I think I’ll start off with some biking, golf and tennis… 

What about you? What sport, fitness activity, game (board,video, card, etc…), adventurous activity do you enjoy? or have you enjoyed in your past? 

 

Procrastinator Michelle!

I am posting right now because I am procrastinating…I have to work on some tax stuff that I’ve been putting off for MONTHS, but with taxes due tomorrow, I guess I MUST get them done today :cry:
 

Procrastination is an art form in my opinion…I do things when the HAVE TO be done, not a moment sooner~ it’s my way to manage my time, lol!! I use this skill for so many things besides taxes.  A couple of of my favorite applications for procrastination is Dishes, Laundry, Shaving, and Bills.  Why bother doing a few dishes??? I need to wait until the entire counter is covered and I have plenty to easily fit into the dish washer.  That way I don’t waste time trying to find the perfect dishes to fit.
 

Why do 1 load of laundry??  I wait until I can do at least 6 at once. I do all the washing and drying~ then later I fold all 6 loads~ the I put all the clothes away at the same time.  Doing 6 loads at once saves time!
 

Procrastinating works…but NOT for working out!!!  CONSISTENCY works for diet, exercise and for getting BUFF!!!
 

Yesterday I started off the week with LONG cardio= 60 mins total: 20 mins r-bike, 20 mins of intervals on bike, 10 mins on stair mill, 10 mins on r-bike
 

Today I did another wimpy leg workout…My back is still in “rehab”:
warm up r-bike 10 mins
laying leg lifts with stretching
lower back extensions
leg curls
abs
seated leg press
1 set of DL’s w/db’s
Calves
walking lunges
leg extension
multi- hip
shuffle circles and side to sides in aerobics room
knee ups
20 min r-bike
 

I better go shower now and then do my tax stuff!! I can’t procrastinate any longer!

Happy Easter!

Happy EASTER my dear friends!!! Today I am Praising Jesus for the miracles he’s done in my life and body!! I am going to live in paradise for eternity because of HIS love!!! Lastnight we “the BEST party ever” as my DD Gracie put it….we had a fun family bonfire. Here are a couple pics:

 

Today we’ve basically ATE and watched the Masters…I was really rooting for Mickelson to win..he had a CHANCE but didn’t, tooo bad!  I cooked fajitas for lunch and a turkey dinner tonight.  The gym was closed today and it was raining out today~perfect for a DAY OFF!! I am fired up for a great week of weight loss~ WHOOOHOOO!!! -Michelle

Learning New Stuff!

Learning new stuff is fun and sooooo important!  I expect that I’ll never ever stop learning and for those of you who KNOW me you know I love to self-experiment.  My current experiment is “the WATER CURE”….which basically teaches people to drink more water and intake more salt (sea salt)… I have been drinking plenty of water my entire adult life, but the SALT is NEW!  AND I have to say it really makes sense to me.  I started taking salt with my water yesterday so it’s too soon to tell much, but I feel good so far!

BuFFING is going GREAT!!!  This morning I weighed in at 126…so that’s 2 pounds off of me since last Friday when I started buffing~ MY Goal is to reach 125 by Friday and then 124 by the end of buffing next Friday….then I’ll  take pics and compare to the ones I took on 3/28.
 

My workout today was CHEST, TRIs, ABS, intervals and 100 lunges…
Here’s how it went

Intervals (basically just picking up the pace here and there…not too organized)
Then 100 walking lunges broken into sets of 30, 30, 40…my quads are a bit sore from the lunges over the past 2 days~ but my booty is not.  I hope to remedy that with tomorrow’s leg workout!!!
 

Then I spent the rest of the afternoon outside chatting with my sister, messing around on facebook, checking e-mails, etc…It was PERFECT outside- 70, sunny and AWESOME!!!
I had a Tired TOOSHIE Tuesday!! YAY!! I love doing LUNGES~ they hurt so good!! As you can tell my week is off to a good start…I am feelin’ GOOD! Monda I got in a decent leg workout and some extra cardio- 30 mins total (includes a 15 min warm up). I was also able to get a bunch of cleaning done around the house and laundry too!!
Laundry is all done at the moment!!
So…Tuesday I did a really good BACK, SH, BI, ABS and 100 lunges workout!! It went well and I am leaning up in my shoulders and chest~ so weird to see striations while lifting–actually, It’s kinda gross…thank God that my upper body doesn’t look like that 24/7.

What’s Up?

Hey Ya’ll What’s Up with you this week?? I am on fire and ready to get after it. ARE YOU? 

Summer is just a few short weeks away…are you ready? I know I’m ready in my head for it, but my body has a little ways to go. Let’s keep the visions of us in our bikini front and center in our brains so that we STICK to our diet, workouts and supplementation routine. The COUNTDOWN to Summer is here!! Let’s rock it so we can really enjoy those HOT summer months in skimpy clothes. 

Today marks the start of week #3 for me and I just noticed I have 69 days until my Birthday. That’s so MOTIVATING to me!! I want a rock hard, tight, cellulite free booty for my birthday this year and100 lunges daily this week will surely help me attain that “present”!! 

This mini-challenge is one of my FAVORITES, lol!! To do 100 lunges a day takes mental and physical determination~ BUT I know you and I can do it!!!! 

the way I approach the lunges are to use a VARIETY of types of lunges and to not get over zealous the first few days of the week. Most days I will opt to do just body weight lunges, but on my leg days I’ll add weight for sure. 

Some variety of lunges you may want to try: 

Stationary lunges
Walking lunges
Side lunges
Jumping lunges
Skater lunges
Jumping Skater lunges
Starter lunges
Box/Step lunges
Smith lunges
Forward lunges
Backward lunges
DB lunges
Barbell lunges
Russian lunges (lean way forward) 

A key point to keep your lunges working your booty is to focus on using your front leg for the majority of the movement. And the KING of lunges for the booty have been shown to be WALKING lunges.

My best friend is hands down my husband.  No friend of mine has ever been even close to THE BEST compared to him.  We are so compatable in every way!  WE think alike about almost every topic -Religion, Politics, Money, Business, Family, Values, etc….  WE also LAUGH at the same stupid things.  Our all time favorite movie is “Dumb and Dumber” …we’ve watched that movie together at least 6 times and laugh harder each TIME!!  Travis and I “DO” a lot together~  We talk a lot, work together, workout together, sleep together, watch sports together, play together, eat together… basically we do almost everything together!!  I love my best friend!!
