Working my Ass Off…Literally

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009
Someone just recently asked me what I’ve been doing to get my quick results and wondered if I had a routine I followed. I thought I would post my response here……

Yes I have a routine. I’m up before 6:00 and get in 20 minutes of cardio before breakfast. This is prime fat burning time. After breakfast I’m off to the gym for my first workout of the day. I do a morning and evening split that looks like this……

Sunday…chest in the morning, biceps and triceps in the evening.
Monday…quads in the morning, calves and hamstrings in the evening.
Tuesday…shoulders in the morning, abs in the evening.
Wednesday…back in the morning, 20 minutes cardio in the evening. This is my easy day.
Thursday…chest in the morning, biceps and triceps in the evening.
Friday…quads in the morning, calves and hamstrings in the evening.
Saturday off

I do 20 minutes of cardio before breakfast and then 20 minutes each in my morning session and evening session for a total of 1 hour each day. This has really been working well for me and allows me to hit each bodypart twice a week without over training.

This in combination with my MuscleTech supplements has given me great results.

I also work out with a great deal of intensity using supersets and drop sets I do everything to complete failure.
I’ve pretty much been spot on with my diet using a plan laid out for me by MuscleTech.  I fully expect to win that $25,000 prize and will accept nothing less than a first place finish for my March 28th contest.

That’s My Head But Whose Damn Body Is That?

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

A lot of my friends have been asking me what I’ve been up to in 2009.  It seems I’ve been very lax in posting blogs and updating my journal so I think it’s high time I posted an update.

I have a T-shirt that I purchased from Bodybuilding.com that has a saying on it that reads…..

“Obsessed” is just a word the lazy use to describe the “Dedicated”

So far for 2009 I like to say that I am Dedicated to the point of being Obsessed!

I’ve got a lot of irons in the fire and I’ve set some pretty lofty goals for myself.  I am currently entered in the MuscleTech $25,000 Transformation Contest and I’m working my ass off for that 25 thou!!  For the past 2 weeks I have been working out like a mad man hitting the gym everyday and pulling double workout and cardio sessions.  My diet has also been perfect.

The results of my hard work are really starting to show.  I found myself standing in front of the mirror the other day and it was kind of strange.

That was still my face on my head staring back at me but I found myself thinking,

“Whose damn body is that?” LOL!!

It looked as though someone had Photo Shopped my head onto someone else’s body.  It was actually pretty damn cool.

I am really leaning out but my weight has stayed steady at 216.  I’m actually starting to see abs.  I knew I had some but it seems strange looking in the mirror and seeing them. I now have firm rounded pecs instead of soft flabby mits (man tits).  I have cuts and striations across my chest and delts and I actually have a lat spread instead of the love handles.

Preparation for the MuscleTech contest has really worked right into my plans for competing this summer.  My first contest is coming up in just 10 weeks so this MuscleTech contest has really given me added motivation for getting in the best shape possible.  Isn’t funny how 25 thousand dollars will do that.  LOL!  I am determined to not only win that money but I truly believe now that I have a good chance to place first in my upcoming contest which would be most excellent.

Between March and November I am planning on competing in 7…maybe 8 contests starting in Toledo, working my way through Michigan and ending in my hometown of Wichita Kansas.  I’ve made a commitment to compete in an NPC event in Alabama over Memorial Day which would be very awesome and would really help me gauge where I am as far as my over all development.

I know this is a pretty ambitious schedule and it will take a mammoth effort on my part to pull it off but I do believe I’m up to the task; obsessed, remember? LOL!!
