Maybe I Should Run For President
With the upcoming Presidential elections right around the corner things are really heating up and one of the main issues that seems to get people fired up is the subject of health care. Everyone seems to be very concerned, and with good reason, about the rising cost of keeping ones family insured.
Most of us here on BodySpace don’t really need to worry as much as the rest of the country because we have the best health care plan on the planet and it’s relatively inexpensive and readily available to virtually anyone who wants it.
“What’s that?”
You say you weren’t aware that BodySpace offered a health care plan?
You say you would like to get on the plan?
Well if you’re a BodySpace member chances are you already participate in the health care plan. The plan I’m speaking of, if you haven’t already figured it out, is simply diet and exercise! I mean what better health care plan could you have than living a lifestyle that keeps you from getting sick? How easy is that my friend?
But you know how people are…why would they do anything for themselves when they can have the government do it for them and then bitch about big brother in Washington having their nose in his business. That attitude pisses me off so bad!
Another thing that really ticks me off about healthcare is doctors and the big drug companies. Believe me when I say that “Big Pharma” is not your friend. I mean they have all kinds of drugs that treat the symptoms of the illness and helps us cope with disease but make no mistake their prime directive is to develop new drugs simply to keep dying people alive just a little longer so that doctors can keep supplying them with expensive drugs.
I mean let’s get real here! The big drug companies can’t make money off of cured patients. The big bucks lie with chronically sick people.
Can you name one disease in the past 50 years that has been truly cured? The answer is NO! Cures will never exist as long as medications are developed with one purpose in mind and that is to bring huge profits to the drug companies.
Did you know that about 106,000 people in this country die every year from adverse reactions to drugs? That’s outrageous!
Despite decades of research and billions spent cancer is still the number 2 killer in this country. Did you know that research has shown that if everyone in this country would get an adequate supply of vitamin D each and every day that cancer could be nothing more than a distant memory? Virtually wiped out?
Of course you haven’t because vitamin D can’t be patented and only cost pennies to produce. Actually if you live in an area where there’s lots of sun it’s free since our bodies can convert sunshine to Vitamin D. Instead of telling us that the medical community scares us with stories of sun exposure and skin cancer and treats cancer patients with toxic chemical cocktails that not only kills cancer cells but destroys everything in it’s path including healthy cells.
I truly didn’t mean to go off on such a rant and I apologize for being so long winded but I am very passionate about this subject and it breaks my heart to think of how many people died needlessly in just the time it took me to write this blog. All in the name of profit!
My name is “B” and I approve this message.

My son has Type 1 diabetes, so this subject about Big Pharma is a hot one for me. When complications resulting from diabetes makes billions of dollars for pharmaceutical companies, why would they want to work on a cure?
They can do so much good, but there’s no profit in it for them, so they won’t.

Dude, don’t apologize, you’re dead on! We’re the prime example of "Western Disease" lifestyles. I know I need to get outside and get more sun (doing massages at work in a room without sunlight sucks). At least I’ve got friends who like to go out and play frisbee sometimes! One of my favorite movies has a great quote, "What a strange creature is man that he would confine himself so easily."

Some very good points, but i take issue with some of your comments. Your definition of a "cure" would mean to eliminate. Lets talk about children dying from type 1 diabetes, we don’t hear much about that, but 100 years ago they did before insulin shots were available. When is the last time you heard of someone being crippled from polio, the last time you heard about an "outbreak’ of measles. Women diagnosed with breast cancer may survive 20+ years, colon cancer avg survival used to be 1-3 years not it has increased to over 7.
Before we attack the health care industry and blame them, lets look at ourselves. We eat worse than ever and expect meds to fix it! Everything we put in our body has a "side effect" ,some are good others are bad.

pwebb you just made my point. Yes we’ve made medical advances but these only prolong our lives long enough to sell us more drugs. Also the side effets from these drugs are often times worse than the disease itself. And yes by cure I mean to eliminate.

congrats, BIG Bry, all true, we need to stop being over medicated and get busy exercising and eating healthy. Awesome insights, bro. Keep at it. Peace, Rich
