THE GREATEST BUT THOUGHEST COMPETITION EVER!

Archive: Monday, December 3rd, 2007
So I am back from the competition….

I placed 6th - so I was in final round. But I will take it from the beginning….

My trainer is great, but he is a pedant. So I had prescribed a really deep-dyed precontest carbing up…. On Friday morning I felt better than I did few days before. Sun was shining and me and my fiance were leaving Czech republic by train. I had few last ricecakes, 0,4 l of water - till 2 PM and a lot of sponge-biscuits and 4 bananas….. I was really looking forward to stop water intake and to start eating biscuits, marmalade and bananas… What a fool I was!!!

I had a low weight and my trainer raised my intake almost twice….. while he told me not drinking ANY water untill the end of the whole competition….

Well, you may try it! Try to eat almost 2,2 lb of sponge biscuits while having absolutely no water for almost 50 hours, take some wine (bottled) in the morning instead, than put a cover of absolutely thick tan (Dream Tan) and let it make a crust on your body and than go on stage posing in front of 1500 people…..

There was about 15 cathegories and each has 10-20 competitors….And my cathegory was almost at the end….

But now back to Friday…I was still feeling fine. We arrived after eight hours to Hamburg - Germany and we found the way and the hotel quite easily. Only one obstacle was the system of paying tickets in public transport….I am still not sure if we did it right, but no matter….

We found the hotel, where was the check in and weigh-in. I was overweighted - how I expected. 2,2 lbs more than Figure girl. So I took the Bodybuilding cathegory. Than I paid for my fiance and we got the key from our hotel room.

Hotel was simply great. After years of sleeping in a car, gym or poor hostels, while competing I was really lucky. I also saw some other competitors. What a quality!! I may say, that maybe the highest quality I ever seen. So I was a little bit embarassed. But my trainer (who was not there with us) was my “support on the telephone”. He told me NOT TO LOOK TO OTHERS, and do what he said me….so I did.

During the night mild diuretics and wine did their job - and I woke up with totaly dry mouth and skin, my face worn-down and again a headache. And I had to start with sponge biscuits again….. How happy I was in Friday and how sick I was on the day of the competition. I missed a sweet taste the whole diet - but now I hated it..When we came to the hall – where the competition was, I was shocked! So big place. I never competed in such a big place… I think there might be maybe 1500- 2000 places – and all were occupied! I start to be nervous.

10 cathegories were prior mine. We were there at 10 AM… at 3 PM I had my semifinal battle. 5 hours of waiting with others. On the beginning there was quite a hot and heavy air. But later it was better…. Organizers did their job really great! The whole big competition went like greased – but still I waited 5 hours, totally dehydrated, with a headache. Rusian competitors – who were near us – lied down and slept, so I followed them.

Than I went on stage…. Great – but – ooops what happened? I got some cramps to my chest muscles and I had serious problems with breathing…. It was almost like somebody hold you very tight…. I can not take a breath and get a fresh air into my lunges…. I was called out during the mandatory posing twice. I tried to smile and not to show I am sick. Than backstage I felt on the ground and I breathed like a dog in a hot summer…

I wished NOT to be in the final, even though it was my goal. But I was! During the break I found another Czech competitors, so we were together. At six started the Parade of Nations… I got more carbs and wine during the break (still no water). But after a short walking I felt stronger and better. Parade of Nations was a great feeling for me. First time in the team, under our national flag. I am not so keen patriot, but I was really PROUD to be here and represent our republic.

Than another long and hard waiting. Again about 5 hours ( our cathegory was at 9 – 9:30 PM)… Some headache and pains returned, but during the breeak I had another call with my trainer and he told me that a lot of really great competitors feels the same. He gave me more advices and than he told me next time we had to practice more and longer posing. Than I talked to several other people and I realized they really feels much more similar to me than I thought. So I was prepared… even to pains!

Than I had my free posing routine… I was looking to be the end, so I had more energy than during the semifinal round. I placed sixth…. My fiance saw me 5-4th, but I think judges were right. I got a nice cup as a trophie and than I drunk, drunk and drunk… I had no need to eat, even my trainer recomended me to eat 3 days what I want. Than I am going back to diet.

I was so full of emotions, that I can not sleep the whole night. It was again a great school for me, and also a proof of my willpower. Thoughest but greatest competition ever for me!!!
