The past couple weeks haven't been going so well. Chuck has been sick and I have a hard time without my buddy! After taking a week off it is hard to get motivated again as well. I have been trying to press through though. The weather is getting nicer and that always helps. We have been able to go for walks outside a couple times this week. I haven't lost any weight but we went out to a nice dinner with friends and ate entirely too much. Then yesterday we had my Mammy's southern cooking, and got stuck with no dinner at the last minute and ordered a pizza... I should be on the treadmill instead of writing this! My back is giving me trouble, but exercise seems to help, so who knows what is wrong with it. It hurts the most when I am sitting and driving. Considering I drive 45 minutes to school to sit there all day, it hurts a lot!
Chuck was away this weekend so I spent time with my grandparents. My Mamaw is on weightwatchers and has lost 27 lbs in 10 weeks! So it was easy to stay on the diet, unlike it usually is at grandma's house. We walked about 3 miles in the morning and shared apples and skinny cow ice cream throughout the day. We washed both our cars and stayed busy all day. Not to mention she gets up at 5 am! Then I had to babysit Chuck's newphews from 6:30 - 10:30. Keeping up with 7 & 9 year old boys is a workout. I chased them around the neighborhood for a couple hours until it got too cold and dark. I had half a piece of p-nut butter pie as a reward I was desperately looking forward to when I got home. Boy was I heated when my mother ate all but 2 freakin bites of the crust, and left that tiny bit in the fridge. How damn rude! Ugh I don't think I have ever been so mad! At least I'm sure I burnt the calories I would have consumed. Ugh can't even think about it.
Chuck is still 5 hours away and just driving home at 11:30 pm. We see each other Every day, it has been weird and sad not to be with him, pathetic I know lol. But he is my support system and it is awful to go to the gym alone!
Yesterday I did yoga for 45 min then had class all day. I ate well until supper when Chuck took me out since he was going to be out of town
So today I managed jogging 30 on the treadmill first thing then about 15 abs. Plan on going for a walk with my grandma later or maybe another round of yoga. I've lost a lot of flexibility since I started lifting and I don't always stretch long enough after.
Yesterday was off, also cheat meal at my great grandma's house. This week I am taking off lifting, its been a while and I think I'm about overtrained. Plus lifting harder and heavier each week is putting weight on and I am a hoss. And the boyfriend doesn't want me to lift more than him haha. Kidding but I think I do need to do some extra reps/sets instead of real heavy low reps. Im getting strong but not really seeing change in appearance and definition.
So this week I'm trying to eat really clean and catch up on cardio. Did 20 on the treadmill with my ankle killin so I jumped to the elliptical for about 10 but I hate those things. It was gorgeous outside this afternoon but I was stuck in class so I'm going to try to get out to the park tomorrow.
Got up early this morning and did the cardio on an empty stomach thing. I didn't feel hungry so that was good. But for some reason the treadmill kills my ankles so I only lasted 25 minutes. I did jog/brisk walk intervals for about 20 of that. My ipod was dead so that sucked Yesterday was leg day and that went pretty well considering I was on an empty stomach for that too. I mostly struggle with my diet. I managed to pass on chocolate chip cookies and ice cream though!
I hate cardio! I forced myself into a light 30 minutes worth today, but it's hard to do much when you don't enjoy it and lack the motivation. Tried to eat decently enough, tuna and salad for lunch and a real thin crust veggie pizza for supper. Threw a protein shake in there and some crackers was all I could find at the snack machine. You do what ya can.
I am 20 yrs old and in college. I use a lot of my spare time to exercise, whether its hiking or lifting, those are my two faves. I do not currently work so it's nice to be able to workout and have no excuses! Not that life is that easy, I have 5 classes in college and will be graduation with an accounting degree next year, and believe me I keep the grades up too. I am pretty self-motivated, I try not to rely on anyone because few people are very reliable. I can't wait to get a good job and move out on my own (again) and keep it that way.
