Supplements, Cortisone Shots & Shoulder Pain
Hello BB Family. Hope everyone is doing good & Happy St. Patrickâ??s Day
Â
Well yesterday, wasnâ??t a good night at all, didnâ??t get much sleep although I was tired and I really didnâ??t eat right. This morning wasnâ??t any better. I didnâ??t have a chance to get anything for breakfast, and then a co-worker shows up with a bacon, egg & cheese on a roll, I was starving, so I ate it, UGH, feeling guilty about it, but I have been trying to eat better than my usual apple.
Â
I guess Iâ??ll have to make it up with lunch, I did bring a salad in and Iâ??m planning on going to the gym today.
Â
Supplements â?? I need help here, I really donâ??t know what I should be taking. I did buy Chocolate Whey by Body Fortress; Iâ??m just not sure how often during the day I should be drinking it. I see a lot of people taking things, like Creatine, things to lose weight, etc. but the problem with a lot of things to lose fat, is that it comes with a warning for people like me that have a thyroid problem & are on medication. So does anyone have any suggestions?Â
Â
My other problem is my back. I had cortisone shots to help it, but now I find Iâ??m a little stiff on the side that the shots where given (not to mention ugly indentions where the shots where given, UGH). My range of motion is not good plus im always afraid to push it as not to hurt the discs (I also have sciatica on the same side). Any good back exercises that I can do?
Â
I also recently developed shoulder pain, itâ??s mostly in the front side, but when I raise my arm it hurts. Iâ??ve been researching online for exercises to alleviate it; Iâ??m not sure what I did to hurt it.
All in all I think, I have been trying really hard to do the right, thing, I know my diet is the biggest challenge for me. Not that Iâ??m a junk food eater, its that Iâ??m not a good eater, but Iâ??m sure the more I learn to better it will become. Next is excersises, learning whatâ??s good for me, learning how to bring in the muscle the right way.

Lourdes, I would suggest you to take women's multivitamins as a routine. I wouldn't take things like creatine etc, Whey protein is good around workout time but if you don't workout it's not necesary, the proteins have to come from the food, it's the best way - meat, fish, nuts. Also try to plan your food and prepare from the evening. My mornings are hectic so if I leave it for morning I never eat right. I have everything ready - up to cereal in the bowl, just to poor the milk in the morning. I get my food with my in containers so that at work I just have to pull it out of refrigerator and heat/eat. For weight loss try acai or green tea - it's natural and won't affect your theroyd.
As to your workout routine - try to listen to your body - yet not making excuses. Start easy and increase the load as you feel you can take it. I had back problems after my pregnancies and I started back extentions, did 5 reps at a workout. Now, 3 years later, I do 3 sets of 20 reps with 25 lbs plate on my back. Give it time and don't push too hard to hurt yourself - but be consistent and persistent. You will get there, I believe in you!
I hope you brought more than salad to work. You need to eat. And eat plenty. Lots of people struggle with losing weight because they don't eat enough, so the body goes into fat storage mode & slows the metabolism. The single most important part of diet, to eat clean & enough, is PLANNING. The night before, cooking extra on weekends, etc. And getting enough protein.
Good luck. I feel your sleep pain. I have regular sleep issues too.
you need to start taking a good joing supplement with some natural antiinflammatories in it. what did you do that messed your back up to begin with? were you in sports or did you hurt is in an accident? im sorry if you have answered this previously. back pain is difficult. dont risk it by doing things like deads of any kind or squats or anything that puts pressure down the spinal cord.
frontal shoulder pain is common arthritic changes and such. just watch your excercises and warm up really good.
