Day 3- Gold’s Gym Games(Charging up the Mountain)

Day 3 situps…have trained for maximum reps, this would be a high scoring event for me; at least 150points. Or so I thought!  They informed me that the rules had been changed at the last minute..WHAT! No problem. They would do it by reps for 1 minute. I watched as another competitor knocked out 57. Turned out that was the guy trailing me by two points(he also got 18 pullups yesterday) I knew I would have to knock out reps, fast and furious. So I tore out of the gate, but after 40 seconds my pace slackened. 42reps:(…. They informed me I went too fast, lot of good that does AFTER the fact.

Strangely, I felt good, not worried at all. I AM trailing by 13 points now. The guy who I’m now chasing’s named Billy. He is a veteran bodybuilder who competes in FAME. No slouch by a long shot!!! He is around 220lbs, I’m kinda hoping his size is a liability in the next three events. (If he can leg press 220 for 55+reps and bench  220 for 15+, he deserves to win, lol)

The prize is not so important, it’s the opportunity to make a testimony. One CAN put God first, devote plenty of time to others and still be a succesful athlete, if not more succesful.   One of the trainers was saying I need to eat like 8000cal a day and way more protein.(I was at 155g for most of training)  I told him that was against my beleifs. That is the kind of stuff I’m fighting against! You do NOT need to pack on slabs of bodyfat to pack on muscle, and just because you have massive arms and chest does NOT make you a great athlete. And it’s always some mass junkie who says this, the ones who actually do bodybuilding comps are usually positive and encouraging.

Well, I’m not worried, I’m just gonna keep doing my very best; that is what Jesus wants me to do. Monday is jumprope, wish me luck..

God bless:)

8000 cal doesn’t make any sense.. he probably throws a couple raw eggs in a blender for breakfast too.. =-).. Good work.. glory to God via hard work and discipline.
