Well lifting has been going really well. I did run into a bit of a snag last week though because last Sunday I tweak my Hamstring. No big deal it was better by tuesday night, but the rest of the week was shot becasue of karting the kids hear and there to Doctor, Dentist, and Eye dcotors so they can go to school. Not a huge deal for me to miss becuase I did have several good weeks of work-outs. THta brings us today or really last night. My softball team was set to play our last games of the year in our league tournament. We won the first game. Between the first and the second we had several hours of waiting till the next one. This was good becuase my oldest had her pitching lesson which we needed to go to. We fly back fron that and the next game just started. I am there no more than two minutes and I am up to bat. Well I crushed one deep into right center and took a fast la around the bases. Next at bat an inning later and I hit it to the same place but this time a triple. Going to the last inning I hit another shot into Right Center. As I was rounding Second I hear this huge POP!! and down I go. I just blew out my hamstring. I could not believe it. I NEVER DID THAT BEFORE… EVER. and I ran track, played baseball and football and never did that…. As soon as I it happen I went down like a buffalo getting shot and then sliding in the dirt until a dead stop.
Well this morning my hamstring was swallow and as you could imagine very stiff. And because last week so messed up with getting the kids ready for school I misses and I was just schedule to miss this week because I am head to Milwaukee for Harley’s 105th Celebration. Now I got to ride a bike over 4 hrs. and walked around all week like a gimp not really giving my hammy good rest so I might be missing some time there after that. Not COOL at all. I was really closing in on some of my leg goals so this really sucks. At least I can still do some work with the upper body but when you have a hard time sitting let alone walking of moving lifting dosn’t look to promising. Well I guess we’ll se what happens and how fast I can recover from this. I have many things I need to start doing but need to get this healthy first.

Okay, I feel that I have gotten back into rhythm with lifting again after my two and half week vacation for the gym. I am getting closer to where I left off in the first place so that is good. What is bad however is my inability to control my eating habits. Unfortunately is Softball season and my girls have us on the run every night of the week for the most part and then on the weekends. We see a lot of dinning out which is not all that bad but it my inability to control my urges on the food that taste great but knowing full well it’s not helping me (Pizza, Hot Wings, Fast food) is killing me. I really need to start paying more attention to my diet and throw in a bunch more cardio and stomach work because I feel my gut is not going anywhere. I am not saying my gut is getting bigger either but for the work I am putting into it its going nowhere. If anyone of you have suggestion please help me out. I would like to post in progress pics but I am not liking how the mid section looks so I won’t until that feeling goes away. Not looking for a total six pack or ripped to shreds just wanting it to be flat not looking like I drink a case of beer.

Well, After having to take a week off becuase of being sick and then playing catch up at work does not work so well. Today was my first day back at the gym. It was good to get back but damn you would think a week off would be nice. Well maybe a week off and not being sick. But a week off with bronchitis and a another week off to catchup on things does not work for this man. In any case I am finally able to hit it again. After today I realize that I will have to adjust some of my goals. How ever I do believe that my short period off here will only hinder me for a few weeks and I will be back to normal and hopefully back on track. I am hoping that I will see some new major gains because I will be shocking the body again. Is ther anyone out there that can tell me what I can expect or not to expect?

So I said I would try to keep everyone up to date on this diet and work-out from Muscle and Fitness. Today was the second day for the diet and work-out. Eating 3,700 plus caloies is no picnic for me. I can get down the breakfast, breakfast snack and about half the lunch. After that I feel like a fat slob. Today I tried to split the lunch but that really did not work either. I may have to adjust everything slightly but still try to follow things as close as possible. The work-out on the other hand went really well. Today was the leg day and for every once of me that does not like doing them there’s 10x that wanting to explode them. Work-out consisted of Squats, Leg Press, Hack Squats, Romanian Deadlifts, Standing Calf rasies along with two stomach exercises (lying cable crunchs, and hanging leg raises). I was abvle to get everything in excpet for the deadlifts and calf raises. I am only alot 1 hour for lunch and lately I have been puching that so 1 hr and I am out. I can hit the calfs tomorrow but the deadlifts will have to wait. The weight for each exercise was just about right for the rep/set range suggested in the work-out. I do however feel more should have been added to the leg press but it was the first time on that program so I was not quite sure what I should be doing for weight but it was pretty close. The NaNoVapor worked well again. I really did not get to fatigued until the end when I was limiting the rest time to get things in. Other than that I think it helped. The Halo may or may not be working. Only time will tell on that. I do however can feel a cool sensation on the back of my throat at times from it like the label says. Hopefully it’s working like they says. Again only time will tell. Other than that I am getting sick. My body is sore all over and it’s not the sore of working-out. Tomarrow will be carido so hopefully I can work out lightly and help head off this cold coming on.
Here’s to getting big to all the Bodybuilding guys out there and to the women meeting their goals for becoming sweet and sexy blowing our guys minds out of the water.

Well, things have been going pretty good. I decided to try to follow the MF Mass Diet plans from the February Issue and then the 10LBS of muscle work-out routine in the March issue. I really do no expect to gain that much but hey you never know. I also have started some new supplements to hopefully help me out. I will be taking the Animal Pak, Anmial Cuts, NaNoVapor, and Halo along with the GNC 100% Whey protien and GNC PM Cassein Protien.
First impression for the first day is HOLLY Cr$p that diet is alot of food to eat (Mass A Plan, MF issue Febraury) and second that NaNo Vapor worked good today. I was able to keep pushing the weight around without to much fatique. Broke my Incline press and took it to 205 for 8 reps.. Not bad and definitly going up…
I will try to keep this updated for anyone interested in seeing if those work-outs really work. Here’s to gaining MASS!

Well it’s been a while since I wrote last. In anycase I have been still hard at it making some gains here and there. As a note to myself I need to take some current pictures of myself for comparision of when I started. My gains may not have been as big as I wanted them to be for the year but I definitely made some nice gains this past year. Like today. Today was the leg day. I have not squated to the past three weeks so I thought it would be good to get back to them. I was very happy with putting up 315 for a set of 4. I most likely could have done five but it would have been a struggle. My clothes are fitting tighter like they are geting shrunk in a dyer so I know change has been made. My first year back in the saddle I would have to say was successful and I looking for huge gains in 08.

I am sure I am not the first or the last person to notice that for the last month and a half several new faces started appearing around the gym. Not to mention a lot of college kids home on break. Anyway back to those new faces. Are these people really new to the gym or have they been a member but are those that don’t do anything all year and then try to make themselves fell good by doing work-outs during the holiday season. I should not say much since I just returned back to the gym one year ago. But at least I have been there on a consist basis and will from know until the end of time.
They come in and mill around the gym like lost puppy dogs moving from one piece of equipment to the next. Their faces look like deer in headlights. If you look close you can see the gears turning in their head. Dugh! What was this for again? How did I do that? As much as it is entertaining it is also a major distraction. The gym becomes crowded and becomes hard to get the work-out in compared to getting it in say July or August.
I would love to see a study from all gym’s / fitness clubs the shows the rate of new enrollment into these establishments and the percentage of those individuals who are consist throughout the year working out compared to the people who come the first two months of the year and the last two months of the year. Or maybe just the amount of people using the gym in the first two and last two months compared to the rest of the months. How much does the average monthly use of the establishment drop of? 10, 0, 30%? I think this would be interesting to know. Or here is another one. What is the percentage of those users that use the gym for the first two and last two months that make up the purchases made in those fat burning products?
Like I said I know I am not the first to notice this and definitely will not be the last. To all of those out there that are dedicated to working-out all year round I feel your pain trying to get a good work-out in this time of year.
