Inspiration
Sunday, June 8th, 2008I was reading the new MD (if you don’t read MD you are a fool, nah I’m goofing but it’s a good read) I came to Kai Greenes column and he had an insert about his recent cover. One part stands out to me…
"A vast majority of people don’t realize that behind every success story, very often there’s a great deal of struggle. These stories of personal struggle can be entertaining because the reader, ultimately, is removed from the actual hardships endured. But in that moment of achievement, when the individual succeeds - despite the odds - the same story that a moment ago was merely an anecdote undergoes a metamorphosis. It becomes inspirational. It achieves a humanness that speaks to people on a different level. All good stories have this quality."
Man, there’s a lot of shit I had to over come to get to where I am at now. I had a story of struggle and I succeeded and I’m much happier now. Sometimes you wonder why certain people come into your life, and sometimes things can change your whole outlook. Shit, I haven’t even stepped foot into a bar of liquor store since I’ve been 21. Two years ago I wasn’t even 21 and I was at the ****in’ liquore store everyday. That ain’t cool.
