As of the past 2 months I have not really been hitting the gym as much as I like. Well not even close. I have lost alot of the weight I have gained from lifting and I am probably not as strong as I was maybe even alot less. I just didn’t have the time or the energy to even think about it. Now I am home from Iraq and I am on leave till Feb 28th and I am going to start back into it. Going to get a membership today at the local gym so I can see where I stand and come up with a plan that I can make work and can stick with. I also can have a steady workout plan as I couldn’t over in Iraq do to the inconsistent time we had to work. So now I might be able to more advances in my training then I could in the past 7 months. I just hate having to start ove though but you have to do what you have to do.

It is coming very close to coming home, back to the states, so I have been very bust trying to get everything ready. I have not been able to hit the gym as much as I would like. I think I am going to just take a break and return when I get back home. Might as well take it easy till then since I have been hitting it hard for a very long while now.

Haven’t signed in in awhile. I haven’t really been hitting the gym as hard as I would like do to being very busy until about 2 weeks ago. I am going back to the gym and I am still at the same level I stopped at so I am somewhat happy about that. Hopefully I can start gaining again as I want to be a little more stronger and with just a little bit more mass. I have gained a lot of weight, some fat but mostly muscle since I have been to Iraq.

This has been a better week so far. I feel like I have gotten my strength back. I hit 275lbs on the squat 5 times. It wasn’t very good form and it was my last set. I will drop the weight just a little bit to start training. But all is good in the gym and can’t wait to go back again. Going to keep it short this time even though they are all short. LATER!!

This week has not been a very good week with the weights. Everytime I go in I am motivated to be there but once I start lifting all motivation is lost. It haven’t been able to hit the same weight I have been training with. Seems like I am getting weak. I can’t stand it. The only thing I can come up with is that I don’t have enough rest. I work very hard then I work very hard in the gym. So I have decided to put the weights down for one week and one week only only to start over at the beginning. I am also going to start adding more protein into my diet. Just an extra protein drink a day. By next Sunday I should be good and rested. I understand I am probably risking losing more but at least I will have a reason and can watch myself progress again. Hopefully this works and if not I am going to need some serious help from everybody out in bodyspace. I am still holding my squats well so at least I have that to keep me going. Still my new favorite exercise. LATER!!

I am finally feeling comfortable with squats. Everytime I go to the squat rack I start out with what I finished with from the last time I hit it. Today we started at 165 lbs and kept moving up in 20 lbs increments from set to set. So On the fifth set we were at 225 lbs and I did 6 of them. It felt really good to do them. I know I can do more now and since I feel comfortable doing them I can really start hitting it hard. My lower is really lacking because of it but I bet I can get it up to speed real quick. This is now become my favorite exercise. Too bad I can’t do enough of them though. Maybe only once a week even though I hit twice this week. I have a partner that goes with me and he says I have real good form to. I can really feel it. So to finish this blog off I really like squats now I should start really packing on the muscle. My goal is to hit 300 lbs at least five time before I come back to the states. My wife is going to have a field day when she sees me. HELL YEAH!! I love this stuff.

Everybody here says that I have gotten much bigger and leaner since I came here. I should be getting a camera from my lovely wife here sometime soon so I can start taking some pics and posting them. Maybe then I can tell if I really had put on some muscle. I know I have gained some weight since I have been here but I am not sure if it is fat or muscle. When I start taking the pics I can start to really see if my progression meets up to what everyone is saying. I have boosted my bench up a little bit so that makes me excited. Today i threw up 220lbs on the decline 6 times without help from my spotter. He just added and extra 2 reps to that. Too bad I can’t keep a set routine or I might be making some unbelievable gains. When I get back to the states though it will be all over. About 4 more months to go. YEE-HAW!!

I can’t seem to add anymore to my bench press. Seems like I am stuck. I am not going to let that get to me though. I am going to try to push through it. I have decided to change my routine to a high rep lighter weight. I did that the other day and my chest is still sore so maybe that is what I needed. I also added some squats whenever I get the chance (which is about one day a week, hopefully). I am doing very light weight since I don’t have the confidence yet to do heavier. Also the mechanics are still a little new to me to.

Everytime I go and hit the bench press I add about 10 - 15 lbs. The weights we use here are in kg so the conversion thing gets to me sometime. The only that I can’t really hit hard is my back. After every back day I just feel like that wasn’t enough and it was very inadequate. I think I am gaining some strength in my back just not like I want. Another thing that sucks is it is impratical to do leg exercises. Since all that I have access is to free weights with a bench and an decline bench it is very hard to incorporate legs into my routine. I think that might be alright since I am running up and down stairs carrying about 50 - 60lbs of gear on my back.
