Poor ‘ol Skippy has been locked away all weekend in a damp, dank dungeon cranking out BodySpace code in a Herculean effort to try and appease the insatiable Greek fitness gods of Mount Olympia.
The more-than-mere-mortal results can now be seen on your individual “Progress” pages:

Check it out to see your stats history and all of your bodypart graphs - all in one convenient location! Kudos, Skip!

Okay, it’s safe to say Scott and Z-Man got a little carried away with the whole graphing thing… Now, instead of just a weight chart, there are also graphs for just about everything else, too! You’ll find them on your profile in the BodyStats section - if, that is, you’ve been tracking your stats regularly over time:

The new-fangled, über sweetness of the whole deal is, however, that each graph can be viewed as a large, pop-up, animated Flash chart - optimized specifically for your viewing pleasure:

Kudos, guys!

Earlier today, Arnold Skippeneggar added a new search criteria to the Advanced Search page: searching by weight chart.
If you check the box, the results list you get back will be filtered by only those that have weight charts, as indicated by the little blue graph icon. Nice, Skip!

Zeke and Skippy have teamed up to bring us weight charting capabilities! If you have at least two weight data points (you’ve entered your weight on at least two different dates) in your BodyStats, you’ll now see a nice, shiny blue weight graph detailing your progress! For example:

(More graphs on the way, folks!) Kudos, guys!

We are proud to announce the beginnings of our your new my.bodybuilding.com site. It’s eventually going to be the main central hub or dashboard of sorts for Bodybuilding.com that ties together BodySpace with all of our other Bodybuilding.com sites:
http://my.bodybuilding.com/
In the mean time, however, you can use it to check to see how many BodyPoints you have earned so far… so check it out! (What are BodyPoints? Well: go find out!)
Kudos go out to Mike for handcrafting the BodyPoints system framework and implementation!
UPDATE: You can now also check how many BodyPoints you (and others) have by looking at your BodySpace profile, in the left-hand column under the “Membership Info” section.

Just so everyone knows, when you report a user, your IP address is recorded, even for "anonymous guests" (those not logged in). Thus, when we see 4 reports against the same user, and they all come from "anonymous guests" with different names, but the IP address is the same, we just have to chuckle - you’re not fooling anyone; it’s obvious who the troll is. LOL
Incidentally, if you wish your reports to be taken seriously, please be logged in when you report someone - we take those more seriously than those from non-logged-in guests.
Skippy has implemented a BodySpace icon and link in the forums for active BodySpace members. This will make it easier to see who is an active BodySpace member or not (forum members with blank BodySpace profiles will not get an icon). Nice! =)

Kudos to the Skippymobile for this great new functionality! Please let us know what else you’d like to search by. We’re taking suggestions… =)
UPDATE: here’s the forum thread for this new feature. Please use it for all search feedback. Thanks.
UPDATE #2: you can now sort by most hits, among other things, to help you better filter your results:
Very cool!

Skippy Longstocking has added a filter into the Member Listing page which now by default only shows active users. (If you want to see inactive users, you’ll need to uncheck the box.) This helps eliminate paging through thousands upon thousands of blank, old forum users who have never even used BodySpace. Kudos, Skip! =)

You’ll have undoubtedly noticed by now that the BodySpace main page has been upgraded. The idea behind the updates are more along the lines of "let’s see the most recent updates going on with the people who use BodySpace - most recent blog posts, most recent comments, most recent progress pic, etc."
(As opposed to the old layout, which was more of a "who’s popular this month - it’ll probably still be the same 6 people…")
Send us your feedback or leave a comment - let us know what else we can add! =)

A new section has been added to the Friends Control Panel, which allows you to see who has recently added you as a friend, along with their comments (if any). Kudos go out to BiologyBabe for helping us identify a bug with an unexpected add/remove friends redirect. Thanks, Jaime! =)

This afternoon, Skippy the Great changed the way your Top 9 friends are displayed on your BodySpace profile. Instead of being alphabetical, they are now randomized.
In the future, there will be a way to manipulate them in order to truly have a “top 9″ (that you can select), but for now this randomization makes it a little more fair for those with names that start toward the end of the alphabet. =)
Also, profiles that have lots of video were loading slowly, so Skip also did some performance tuning today and sped up the way videos were being referenced from YouTube. Thus, now profiles (like mine!) with lots of videos load much faster. Kudos, Skippy!

Skippy added a couple of small, but cool, additions this afternoon:
1) Neck and hip measurement options have been added to the Body Stats module of your profile.
2) A counter of active members has been added to the BodySpace main page:

Kudos, Skip! =)

Skippy recently finished the Progress Picture module. Now you can enter pictures showcasing your progress over time. The oldest and newest pictures will be displayed on your main profile page.
Here are some folks that are already using it:

Oops, Skippy did it again (watch out, Britney)… he added another wonderful feature to BodySpace! Now, you can receive instant email notifications when people add you as a friend!
What’s more, the emails are smart - meaning that they will reflect whether or not that person was added as a fan or a mutual friend. Pretty slick, Skip.
This feature has been activated for active members, but if you wish to turn off the emails, you may do so, of course, by visiting your friends control panel and looking for the appropriate setting. =)

The observant among us might have noticed today that the latest profile pics are now displayed in a “paged” view, instead of in a huge column. This allows for faster loading times, and also for making more total profile pics viewable. Kudos to Skippy for this improvement!

Look for this type of paged view in other sections of BodySpace soon! =)

Michael has added a cool, behind-the-scenes feature into the Search For Another User page. It’s an Ajax routine that tries to pre-guess who you’re searching for (or suggest who you might want to search for).
Pretty slick, Mike! Reps.

Skippy divulged a top secret BodySpace link today, partially against his better judgement. (Sssshhhhh!) Check it out, but don’t tell anyone… (Oh, and you didn’t hear it from me.)
http://bodyspace.bodybuilding.com/activity.php?section=friends
UPDATE: this link was three separate, secret links, but have now been consolidated into one ginormous page with all three. It’s also been linked to on the left-hand navigation on several pages, entitled “Most Friends.”
UPDATE #2: this link is no longer “hidden”… it’s now on your profile page in the left-hand column, at the bottom. =)
UPDATE #3: oops, it’s hidden again! Teehee.

Two new feedback mechanisms have been added today to the BodyBlog section by Mike.
1) For those that has seen the mysterious token problem when trying to edit blog posts, there is now a token feedback input form on that error page - use it to submit feedback on the token problem to help us track down this slippery beast. =)
2) There is also a main BodyBlog Feedback Page linked to from the BodyBlog main page (under “Other Features”). Use it to submit various and sundry types of feedback, including (but not limited to):
- Bug Reports
- Praise
- Suggestions
- Kudos
- Feature Requests
- Dating Solicitations, etc. =)
