SHAREBodySpace Redesign: Fixes for January 13, 2012
Updates for January 12th and 13th, 2012:
- No deployments on either Thursday or Friday
We do, however, have a deployment scheduled for Monday afternoon, January 16th. Items scheduled for that deployment include:
- Inactive and banned users will be removed from a users list of friends and followers as well as friend requests list
- Changes will be made to the "Add A Friend" and "Follow" functionality to not allow banned users to send friend requests or follow other users
- Issues will be resolved where new users were unable to update profile information using the Personal Information modal
- Additional data will be added into the Personal Information tab (Primary Gym, When I started, Age, Personal Website)
- Issue will be fixed where changing your goal did not immediately update the information in the main header area of a user's profile
- Issues will be resolved where some users were seeing an "Oops" error message when trying to save a goal
- Remove Friend Modal will be updated to more accurately reflect the intended design
- Pager functionality will be corrected on a user's list of other users they are Following
Changes sound absolutely great! I'll be looking forward to them on Monday! Will these changes also be reflected in the counters that appear with different values on different pages? Right now I either have 1 or 3 Friend requests; 418 or 446 Friends. 69 or 70 page comments. When are those of us who requested it, going to get the number of visits to our page restored? For many of us this is a highly motivating statistic. Hoping these are restored soon. Some of my friends are still waiting for more changes before fully recommitting to BodySpace! Keep up the hard work!
Appreciate the changes made so far..as do my friends but still alot of BS'ers have left..Hoping they return if the changes bring back the easier navigating and make it user friendly again...
I need to find out WHEN will we see the friends requests restored to where they are in order...the only requests are all mixed in random order..they need to be most recent first! Theres no way I can go through a list of 500 and 'figure out' the new ones! :/...

friend requests in time order as it was would be lovely jubly and also friends listed in alphabetical order will be an advantage.
I appreciate that changes are being made, but I still look around and wonder why the overhaul was done at all. Interaction among friends is WAY down because it's still a clunky bear of a site to get around, now.
Things used to be very convenient: I could look at a person's profile and tell in a matter of seconds if they had pictures, videos, belonged to bodygroups, and so much more. Now it seems I have to click on a dozen tabs to find out everything I used to see at a glance.
Is it at all possible that the BodySpace designers could swallow their pride, admit this thing was a mistake, and go back to the 2011 design? I know admitting so much work was pretty much nothing but a boondoggle might be hard to swallow, but it would sure revitalize the interests of the vast majority of us to start seriously using the site again.
When are you going to fix the friends reqeust ? So we can see who's reqeusting the add. Also when you click on manage your friends...it comes up blank...you would think these issues would have already been resolved
Interaction continues to be flat! I hope that other issues that drew people to our pages will be resolved and/or added. Page visits, video preview thumbnails (if only one of our personal and one of our favorites is displayed). One of the big problems is that those things that we had control over have been taken out of our control. Once again, I appreciate that more info is showing up on my page, but realize that the page is no longer "distinctly" mine because I cannot control a lot of areas that I had control over on the old BodySpace. Keep plugging away!
