Blog Bugs Fixed (Activation & Admin Links)

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

For those users that have been experiencing BodyBlog bugs where you couldn’t activate your blog, or couldn’t see the admin links, or were redirected to the CEO blog or got a ‘page not found’ error message when clicking on them - today is your lucky day!  Smiley

These most common blog activation/management issues have been fixed.  You may need to clear your browser cookies for it to work, however, so please try that and let us know if that clears this up for you.  Also please let us know if any of those issues persist.  Please post your feedback as a comment here.

Thanks!

1/14/2009 Update: We made another change or two today for some minor lingering peculiarities, but all blogs should be working for everyone.

Detailed instructions on clearing (deleting) your Bodybuilding.com cookies are found below.  This process is working for everyone who tries it!  Smiley

Note: If you don’t wish to clear all of your cookies, that’s completely understandable.  Just clear your Bodybuilding.com cookies:

Firefox Users:

Search for “bodybuilding” in the Firefox cookies window (tools, options, privacy, cookies, show cookies), and delete the two entries that start with “wordpress”:

wordpresspass_c43a862ee74977619d2131549ff54
wordpressuser_c43a862ee74977619d2131549ff54

Internet Explorer Users:

In your Temporary Internet Files folder (tools, internet options, general, browsing history, settings, view files), delete these three text files:

username@blog.bodybuilding.com
username@bodybuilding.com
username@www.bodybuilding.com

Then log back in and…  Blog away!

Improper Usage Of BodySpace (Spam)

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Just a quick reminder to all BodySpace members:  BodySpace is not a vehicle for spam.  Any unauthorized usage such as posting competitors links on your profile, spamming users via PM with links/checkout codes for other supplement websites, dating services, etc., is not permitted, and can result in the removal of BodySpace profiles and/or forum bans for those users.  My inbox says ‘thank you’.  LOL   Smiley

Beware of Phishing PMs

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Some users received a PM (personal message) from a (now banned) member called "Marmites" like this:

hey,

we’ve been keeping an eye on your progress, looking good!

the reason for this private message is because we are currently looking for a selected few bodyspace members to be on the main page of the bodyspace banner.

it’s going to be new and exciting and what a better way to kick it off with new faces.

here’s a quick sign up form http://ad.bodybuilding.com

all the best!

DON’T CLICK ON THE LINK!

This is what is known as a phishing scam.  If you did get one of these PMs, you would have (hopefully) noticed that the link text “http://ad.bodybuilding.com” didn’t match the actual link URL, which was pointing to an outside site (ending with “.tk”).  Moral of the story, before you click a link, always glance at the status bar to make sure the link you are about to click is actually going to where you think it is.  Smiley

If you did click this link, please CHANGE your PASSWORD immediately!

New Feature: ‘What My Friends Are Up To!’

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

We’ve added a new feature on BodySpace called social news feed, a.k.a. "What My Friends Are Up To."  It gives you a status update whenever any one of your mutual friends updates their profile or blog with new stuff like uploading a new progress picture, writing a new BodyBlog entry, updating your supplements list, updating your BodyStats, setting new short-term goals, etc.

Check it out here:

http://my.bodybuilding.com/

What My Friends Are Up To

You have to be logged in to see it, however, or else you’ll be redirected to the main page to log in.  It’s still technically in “beta” status, but feel free to give it a whirl!

UPDATE: We’ll be adding a LOT more news items to this in the near future. This is just the first version - just the beginning!  WAY more tools like this coming to my.bodybuilding.com in the very near future!  Smiley
