Our recent forum software update introduced a glitch into how forum avatars are displayed for some users. This will be fixed shortly.
UPDATE: Fixed. If your avatar still doesn’t show up, reupload your main profile pic (or just change it), and check the "Display my Avatar in the Forum" checkbox.

Kudos go out to Ryan and Michael for adding the small, yet attractive, orange RSS feed icon to the bottom of everyone’s blogs today:
Very cool! =)

This afternoon, Michael, Richard, and Wayne fixed a bug that was causing blog images to appear only as thumbnails in certain instances (i.e., when editing with Internet Explorer). Kudos go out to Anita Ramsey for helping us discover this problem! =)

As we test out new features, do upgrades, and as BodySpace continues to grow, we experience a glitch or some momentary downtime from time to time. A few minutes ago, we saw one such minor glitch, where a folder created on the server introduced a folder permissions misconfiguration.
If you saw any error messages, such as “404 - Page Not Found,” “403 Forbidden - You Don’t Have Permission To View This Page” or “302 Found - Page Has Been Moved Here,” we apologize! Downtime was limited to about 2 minutes.
This past weekend, a back-end upgrade was performed on the forum software (vBulletin), which also has created some minor issues for some forum-related activities. Overall, the forum is running smoothly and with new, increased functionality. One or two minor glitches remain, and are being investigated.

Skippy Longstocking has added a filter into the Member Listing page which now by default only shows active users. (If you want to see inactive users, you’ll need to uncheck the box.) This helps eliminate paging through thousands upon thousands of blank, old forum users who have never even used BodySpace. Kudos, Skip! =)

You’ll have undoubtedly noticed by now that the BodySpace main page has been upgraded. The idea behind the updates are more along the lines of "let’s see the most recent updates going on with the people who use BodySpace - most recent blog posts, most recent comments, most recent progress pic, etc."
(As opposed to the old layout, which was more of a "who’s popular this month - it’ll probably still be the same 6 people…")
Send us your feedback or leave a comment - let us know what else we can add! =)

In this light-hearted parody, featured BodySpace member “ccashatt” (Charles Cashatt) has his recent blog entry read by a distinguished orator. Follow along:
“So I’m leaving in about an hour for my other job as an EMT. I was wrong this morning when I told ya’ll that my legs weren’t sore. I’m pretty sure I spoke too soon. I’ve learned that you shouldn’t walk downstairs with a FULL bucket of laundry the day after a leg workout. LOL! Don’t have too much planned when I get down there! Got some work to get done for the station and have some homework to do for school. Other than that, it’s rescuing people when we have to! I’m also take my 2nd dose of creatine and the 3rd will be before bed. Chat with you all later! Lift hard!”
Who will be next? Right-click and “save file as…” to download the MP3 (1:41 - 1.55 MB).

Many BodySpace bloggers may have discovered that our timezone settings are off on the BodyBlogs. For some reason, the time on the server seems to be set exactly 1.5 hours into the future, so… if you post a new blog post, it may not show up until an hour and 30 minutes from now. This will be fixed tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I had to chuckle at this one:
Skippy, of all people - Lead Developer of BodySpace, the guy who almost single-handedly created and implemented it - getting welcomed here by someone else.
Reps to Chizzad for a nice try. ROFL! =)

Admiral Skippy rolled the hard six and fixed/added about a bazillion little things today that all add up into a smoother, easier-to-use site. For instance, a post count has been added more prominantly on profile pages that makes it easier to see (at a glance) if someone has an active blog or not:
On the BodySpace main page, image dimension information was added to the image thumbnails to keep them from being displayed too large (which has been an occasional annoyance over the past few days for several people).
A bug was fixed where you couldn’t add a member to your forum “Ignore List” directly from their BodySpace profile (it would incorrectly send you to the “Add Friends” page). Clicking this will now finally work:
LOL. =)

Lots of people have been asking about what the restrictions are on how big photos can be on BodySpace (and why extremely large photos can’t be uploaded). This is a great question, since every area of BodySpace and the forums is actually different!
Thus, the FAQ has been updated with some specifics for various parts of the site (including main profile pic, photo galleries, progress pics, blogs, etc.). Check it out.

A bug popped up today with images not being resized correctly in a couple of different locations. This is being fixed ASAP. Sorry for the wonkiness! =)
UPDATE: This has been fixed. If your profile pic is still too huge, please reupload it. Thanks!

A few minor, yet possibly interesting, things occurred today. First, we surpassed 19,000 active members this afternoon. Woohoo!
Second, a minor glitch was identified where the birthdate/age field wasn’t being displayed on user profiles. This has been fixed. (There is an option to show/hide this in your profile - just check in your control panel.)
Third, the CBBF (Canadian Bodybuilding Federation) was added as an option in the Contest History section of user profiles. Please let us know if we’re missing your federation!
Fourth, profile contest histories are now sorted, most recent first. Kudos to Skippy PB for these improvements! =)
