Just a thought……Pro’s listen up.

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Last night was an interesting event. I came home and took a rest and luckily was able to get on the local free wifi in my home (i still dont have internet since i moved) This ensures that i dont slack off watching cable TV or surfing the web while i should be training for a competition. I nap for 1 hour and wake up and make a protein shake….Blender goes off and mixes my jungle juice and before i know it, i am out of protein. 2 scoops was all i had so 60 grams was going to be all i get until i make it to the store. I make my way down the pike and get into Bally’s. The dude at the front desk welcomes me in and waves as i approach the turn-style. During my drive into the gym and my walk from the car to the gym doors, i am blasting my IPod. I remember i was playing "To The Pain" by Nonpoint (very good lifting song).  I walk in, proceed to warm up doing some lat work and a fellow NPC competitor walks up to me and we start chatting. We talked about anything and everything. As i continue to blast through the back workouts, i start to think about all the negativity in the sport. I remember most if not all the pros i have met…….always seemed to be bitter and dry when i meet them. Phil Heath was the one exception. That guy was so cool to talk to and literally seemed like a guy you could grow up with and be friends with. A word to all the Pros in the industry, remember that this sport doesnt make you rich, its all the fans that travel around the world to see you. Next time you decide to appear at a show or guest appearance, give the young kids a smile or two and NOT because they have big breasts and a tight ass. Give respect to the guys old or young and smile, talk, offer a picture with them, because there is nothing worse than driving several hours to meet your icon in the bodybuilding sport, only to realize that they are about as dry well…….dry wall and about as bright as a block of cheese. Share some knowledge and wealth and give respect to the people that buy your supplements that you so dearly swear "puts on 25 pounds of lean muscle in 5 days…" To hell with that, just be a nice person and your fans will reward you. I may never be pro but i know that if i ever had the blessing and opportunities, then i would do so……but i would not let my fans ever feel like they wasted their time meeting me.

 p.s. My back workout was great BTW.

Soooo last night was interesting……

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Im at the gym and its probably no later than 830 in the evening yesterday. I had a protein shake and no meal just so that i dont get nauseas (just in case). i planned a really heavy duty tricep regimen for the day and i was just about to start. I warm up by doing some dimple dips off the bench in the horrible over-crowded weight room and im using my own bodyweight so everyone just sits and stares as i do this because they want my bench (you know as if i marked my territory around it and this is the Sahara).  I immediately stop after feeling a sharp uncomfortable pain in my kidney area right in the core of my body. I try to reach for it and press on it but i cant get deep enough in m tissue so i continue to stretch and drink yet another bottle of water. I start going through this mindset that nothing is going to stop me at all and i just keep counting reps until the numbers all mingle and mix together. I am now on set # 20 of my heavy skullcrushers..yes #20. I have a typical curl bar with 65 pounds on each side so its not too heavy but not for the inexperienced. I reach back, grab the bar, grunt hard and lift………………………::bing:: theres that pain again taunting me and manipulating my mindset. I decide to sit up and take a break. I go have a walk to the water fountain as i have now depleted my 8th bottle of water and strangely i havent used the bathroom yet.  funny huh?  I walk or more-less waddle like a penguin back to the weight area and proceed to workout doing my favorite….close grip bench. This really fills the belly of the muscle and rips it to shreds when ample weight and form is used….Form is the key though.  I go through 5 sets of about 285 and my arms are blasted….My triceps are now so engulfed in blood that they are now cutting off the circulation to the rest of my arm when the triceps lays on my "lat." (this happens all the time) I stretch her out and massage it deep and nice to get that lactic acid buildup moving out. To me everything is fine now and i give a nice rear tricep pose in the mirror and i was impressed. The pain went away and i got an amazing workout (anyone reading this volunteer to help spot me sometime) and so everything was great….. I go home and skip the fish for tonight as it was wayyyyy too late so i double up the protein and have a nice thick drink for dinner.  I go to bed……and everything was wonderful. I sleep and close my eyes and my arm slowly regains conciousness ;) THEN…………….I get up not 1′nce  not twice or even 3 times. but an amazing 8 times to use the bathroom…. I tell you what, i got absolutely no sleep because i was so busy using the bathroom. I held at least 3-4 pounds of water that night and i feel absolutely cleansed……..well my name is Ocean.

Counting down….

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

So the time has come to introduce myself……ok not really. Im basically at work trying to put my workout schedule in front of me so i know what to expect tonight. Hard, rough, glycogen stealing workouts that will get me tired in an hour. Can it be done….yes but i need to strategize and start getting more striation planning. Its either this or cardio and i really dont like the "C" word…..

Ok well this has become a pointless first blog…i just really want to test it out and throw out my master-disaster blogging skills (not really Ocean). Anyways — feel free to introduce yourself and provide me a quick and easy solution to my dilemna this evening…

either:

a. tilapia and green beans

or

b. tilapia and brown rice

or

Wendy’s double stack  ::drool::
