Photoshoot
Sunday, November 2nd, 2008So I am trying something completely different… sorta… modeling. We’re talking dates over to shoot in early Jan. Gives me a little over 8 weeks to prep, at least I’m not supposed to show up show-ready. It’s kinda jump-the-gun, but I’m impulsive and needed a different goal other than another show this soon. I figure if I can get stage-ready in 8 weeks (after not lifting and eating badly for a month), I will be fine for this since I’ve kept it pretty consistent in the month since the show.
I have to rant again: 93% lean turkey is cheaper than eggs and light tuna. Turkey: $0.45/svg, Eggs: $0.58/svg, Tuna: $0.74/svg. Yeah, it’s only cents, but over a year that adds up. And it tastes soo much better. So I am now the proud owner of 24lbs ground turkey. Anyone hungry?… party at my place!!
I love laying leg presses on the smith machine. The next day, you can feel the exact point between the glute and hamstring where you worked… which = lift. Oooh.
I am training differently for the shoot than my show, namely because I got really bored with the cardio. It’s not finalized yet, but will look something like:
- AM: 20min sprint/plyo intervals; PM: 30min Tmill incline walk post-lifting
- AM: 30-40min run, PM: Lift only
- #1’s cardio
- #2’s cardio
- AM: 30min sprint/plyo intervals, no lifting
- AM: lifting, later: 30-40min cardio
- Off or 40min run
For lifting, I think I am just going to go heavy + low reps the whole damn time. Increasing my reps pre-show to even 15 seemed to shrivel away my muscle fullness… I’m still shocked how stringy and un-ripped my pics looked. I think I respond better to heavy and low volume; still throwing in some drop-sets and supersets.
Weaning myself off the redline… I miss it… it has been a GREAT faithful friend over the past 2 years… For now it will be caffeine for me, can’t promise that in a month my energy won’t need VPX’s ass-kicking aid.
Enjoy the beautiful fall weather…
OH and my favorite low-carb high protein chicken recipe: layer chicken breast with Kraft fat-free cream cheese and low-fat turkey bacon, roll-up together and stick with a toothpick to hold in place (or leave flat and open-faced, that works too), bake in the oven at 400F for 20-30 min and voila… it tastes heavenly.
