Turkey

93% lean ground turkey and chicken breast is cheaper than canned tuna. What?!? When did this happen and why am I only finding out now admist my too frequent grocery trips. Guess its my lack of food-adventure.

But I am spoiled now, turkey and chicken burgers for the rest of the week. MM, except when I forget to buy gum and walk into work with mrs dash breath. Oohhh well, I smell worse things there hourly.

Love my new weekend lifting partner. She has shown me new stuff to do for legs, and I’ll be getting her to finally "feel" her back work when lifting it, and finally get sore. Our weaker parts are the other’s best bodyparts, which makes it even better that we lift together when we can. Plus we just like hanging out, never had a girlfriend before that competes too!The 3 of us are going to start going in together and purposely hogging a piece of equipment for hours… just to be obnoxious like all the dudes that walk away and still claim that squat press or bench as "theirs" even though it hasn’t been used in half an hour. Whatever.

Waking - cardio - work - eating - lifting…. rinse and repeating… is getting mundane. I need something new.

Transformation time!

Today begins the big big big first little step towards getting back into shape and bodybuilding. I’ve said that the past couple weeks and have let sooo much get in my way - being sick, hell at work, etc - now my girl (who competes too) and I have set today as our day "back on the wagon". Haha. I guess it is an addiction in its own way.

It was her idea - she just inspired me to get my ass in gear too :) She read an article in Oxygen about how a competitor’s trainer promised her a $1000 shopping spree if she’d lose 30lbs… and she did… So her husband is offering her the same deal, which is why this is going on. And she inspired me soo much - and I’ve never had another chick in my life who was as into this lifestyle as me - so it will be great to support each other and push.

The thing to remember about fitness is that it’s a journey… a long one … and it doesn’t happen immediately. How nice would it be to get overnight results (we all wish)? To have one good day of clean eating and a great workout then BAM, your body is transformed. Yeah, right. It takes weeks, at least.

What brought this on was a bad weekend. I drank, I ate crap, and didn’t workout. Boy, is it noticeable. In the 2.5 weeks since my show I feel like I made a complete 180 from how I looked onstage - sure some of this is in my head, but it’s very real too. It’s defeating to lose results with a couple weeks of slacking but what sho0uld I expect?!?!? I am not naturally lean and defined and shouldn’t think that I will be lean and defined if I don’t work my ass off for it 98% of the time. I haven’t lifted much, I have barely done cardio and I’ve eaten clean maybe 50% of the time… DUH. So this is me being disgusted with myself andmy lack of discipline and where it got me so soon.

So today, time to reverse it. BACK onto the diet, BACK into the gym for some serious lifting and cardio, BACK to drinking a ton of water. I fell off the wagon and now I have to get back on. I’m not happy about it, and I’m not thrilled that it will take a while for me to get back down to where I want (soo wish overnight results were possible… maybe with lipo… but that’s too expensive). I just have to keep going with it and keep the faith that it will work. It’s tempting to do it the "wrong" way - by not eating, but that will only backfire and kill my metabolism and muscle.

I forgot what else I was going to say. Everyone have a great Monday :)
