Where You At?

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Suffice to say I haven’t been to the gym since my workout a couple weeks ago now. I can’t go into detail here, but I’ve been dealing with some pretty heavy personal issues that completely derailed my workouts and destroyed my motivation.

I’ve been following the diet at home, though, so all is not lost. I also think I may have been overtraining because I was very very grumpy and tired no matter how much I slept during that last week. I also think my variable sleeping schedule wasn’t helping very much.

This week I’m gonna go ahead and restart at the beginning of the cycle. Let’s see how I do.

I’m also gonna move my goal to the end of the year. There’s no possible way I’m gonna lose that much weight safely in 2 weeks, so I’m not gonna put my body into that situation.

Funny the curveballs you get thrown at you; sometimes the only thing you can do is deal and move on.

Week 4, Day 2-5 - Reboot

Monday, September 8th, 2008

We’re having a heat wave and boy did it cook me good this weekend. I haven’t had to deal with the recent heat spells very much because by the time I get home from work, it has cooled down a bit. This Saturday, which was the worst of the heat this weekend, my energy level was just done for. I can’t remember the last time I sweated so much. Around 4pm, I was sleeping and just trying not to die from the heat. I tried thinking of a way I could fit into my freezer, but it just wasn’t gonna happen.

Anyhow - my energy levels this weekend were just nonexistent. I could not find the motivation or the energy to get to the gym, so I’m about 3 days behind this week.

Other than that, the weekend was actually pretty good. Diet was good - I had an ice cream shake on Saturday (can you blame me?) but other than that, I did good. For kicks, I stepped on the scale at a friend’s house (fully clothed after a meal) and it said 295, but I’m doubting its accuracy, but it’s heartening to see it going down still.

I’m still on the train and I’m still reaching for my goal, just taking it day by day.

Week 4, Day 1 - Reboot

Friday, September 5th, 2008

Good workout last night, though when I first arrived, the machine I use for my benches was taken up, so I had to wait a few minutes before I could start my workout. No biggie, but I was rarin to go.

I’m finally caught up with my workout tracker logging; took long enough. :)

Diet end was good, nothing bad going on. I had a small brownie yesterday, but other than that, I’ve been keeping it clean. The worst I’ve been doing right now is cereal (my one true weakness!). I’ve got a box of Honeycomb and a huge bag of Sugar Puffs with my name all over them! What can I say? Cereal truly is my achilles heel.

I took measurements the other morning, and did ok. I’m hoping to keep the momentum going and keep the tape measure going the right direction.

I’m still reaching for that goal!

Week 3, Day 4 - 7 - Reboot

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Ok, so I was a lazy bum this weekend and basically played on the computer when I wasn’t at the gym. I stayed up really late every night and got up really late and totally screwed up my sleeping schedule. I ended up going to work Tuesday morning after having gone to bed around 4am. Yikes. I don’t have any idea how I made it through, but I did without a problem, but fell asleep on the way home on the train. Figures. :)

Anyhow - I’m 1 day behind because I opted to stay home and get some extra sleep last night instead of going to the gym. As a result, I finished off Week 3 tonight and am starting Week 4 1 day late. No biggie.

Nothing bad to report on the diet front, but I keep forgetting to measure. I’m gonna do that probably tomorrow morning or Sunday. I did step on the scale tonight at the gym, and it says I lost 4 pounds, so not much but it’s progress. I’m starting to doubt that I can reach my goal, but I’m gonna keep plugging away with a vengeance.

So Week 4 starts tomorrow, the 4 set week. Ugh. This is when the workouts get really tough.
