Feeling better lately, and have been bolstered by good results from my physical. All my lab results came back at good levels. My triglycerides are high, and I’ve been told that my liver enzyme count is a bit high (they call it ‘fatty liver.’ My liver needs to go on a diet… Lulz). I’m very happy about these results, and am supposed to return for a re-test in February after I have lost some weight between now and then.

So with that mandate, I better get crackin.

This week I think will be a warm-up week. I haven’t been to the gym for awhile and really want to ease my way back into a regular workout. I still want to do 3-days of weights and 2 or 3 days of cardio / stretching.

Obviously I’m not gonna reach my goal of 50 pounds this year, it’s not a big deal. I think, though, I will keep that as an overall goal with no specific time-frame. Instead, my smaller goal will be to remain consistent with my diet and my workout and keep my focus on that. If I hold to that, I will reach my overall goal of losing 50 pounds of fat.

Not sure what my deal is, but I haven’t done anything these past couple weeks. I don’t know what it will take to get me motivated back into working out, but my usual tricks to psyche myself out just aren’t working anymore.

2k9 - TMinus 15 - Sunday

Ok, got my measurements in for the week.

I think I tweaked my ankle a bit last week, though, so I didn’t get to the gym anymore after that first cardio session unfortunately. The pain is mostly gone, but stepping on it was a bit tough towards the end of last week, especially yesterday. I’m hoping this week it’ll be better, but I guess I can’t use the treadmill here at my apartment gym because the tweakage only happened after my session on that machine.

So I’m gonna focus on swimming here instead of the treadmill.

Today I’ve gotta get my sheets ready to track my dietary intake for the week. I’m trying a different format than I have in the past in order to have more accountability. When I get to work tomorrow I’ll print them out and we’ll see how it goes.

My plan for the week is:

Monday - cardio
Tuesday - cardio
Wednesday - cardio
Thursday - weights & cardio
Friday - weights and cardio
Saturday - weights and cardio

I’m anxious to get this ball rolling with just a few months left of this year. I’m determined to be able to take my shirt off next summer without feeling ashamed of the way I look.

2k9 - TMinus 16 - Tuesday

Ok - the countdown to the end of the year begins. I have about 16 weeks to hit my goal of 50 pounds of fat loss by the end of the year.

I’m all moved and in my new place, which is great. This will be a tight month financially, but things should work out fine. The new place I’m in has a basic gym and I already hit the treadmill for 30 minutes this morning. I’m going again tomorrow morning, and will hit the gym on Thursday for my first weight session of the week.

I know that hitting this goal will require primarily dietary consistency and diligence. I’m making up new carb / protein goal sheets and will make it easier to start tracking those goals for my daily intake. I want to start posting those on my BodySpace so that there’s some accountability here.

I can do it, just gotta be strong and keep my goal in sight.

Ok, good cardio session yesterday. I ended up going last night instead of yesterday morning due to late night shenanigans on Monday.

Today I’m gonna be doing cardio at night again. Tomorrow is the first 3-set week on my weight workout.

2k9 Week 32, Monday

So I was going to have to stay at a friend’s house in order to ensure that I could get to work, but the strike that may have started today isn’t happening after all, so my life can get back in gear.

This week I’m gonna go ahead and start the first 3-set week. Tonight I’m gonna be busy, but tomorrow morning I’m gonna hit the gym for cardio.

No measurements this week - not a huge deal. I’ll make sure to get them done next weekend. Diet’s been ok; bad of me, but I haven’t yet started measuring all my meals to make sure I’m on target, though I have been keeping an eye on my portion sizes, and I’ve been making sure to eat smaller meals more often throughout the day.

Tonight I have to do some laundry, and hit up the grocery store. It’s my goal this week to avoid going out at all.

Somehow, someway I screwed up and forgot to take my measurements on Sunday. Not a huge deal, but I can’t be forgetting that important part of my routine.

2k9 Week 30, Saturday

Ok, had a good workout last night. Deadlifts are still my achilles heel. :)

Tonight was good, too. Felt great intensity on all my weights. We’ll see what the measurements say tomorrow.

Next week is the first 3 set week. I’m really enjoying these 3 days-a-week weight sessions. One-two-three and they’re done. I like that.

2k9 Week 30, Wednesday

WHEW. I’M PUMPED FULL OF ENERGY RIGHT NOW.

I had to change my plans a bit today; had to go to work early so I switched my cardio to night time instead of first thing in the morning. Just got back and am really full of energy. Unfortunately, I have to go to bed. :)

Tomorrow is the first night of the 2-set week. I’m looking forward to my workout tomorrow.
