Hovering Again

Okay, I did 45min on elliptical yesterday. Burned 1,000 calories according to the machine. Still haven’t lost any weight. I’m around 128kg, goes up and down 1kg. I think I get frustrated from starving myself and exercising and then eat a little extra at night. I know I’m not getting many calories, but at my age, I guess the metabolism is so slow, it doesn’t take much to cut the losses.

hey, that 1kg +/- is most probably water retention. depends directly on your sodium intake that very same day. but your real fat loss is happening.. it is just not visible on the scale due to water retention.

Yeah man I agree with the guy above, just keep it up!

the other thing is……….your starving yourself…….try the six small meals a day plan, bro, it works, and it will increase your energy, i haven’t stepped foot on an elliptical in over a year. I’ve lost 25 pounds since jan, with NO CARDIO. You can do it as long as you keep yur mind in the game.

BD, do what works for you whether it’s cardio, weights or both. Forget the scale, it’s subjective at best. Get a cloth tape measure. Losing inches, not pounds, is a better first goal and more telling. Oddly enough, your body’s fat cells are designed to defend themselves so you have to keep gradually pushing your limits. I agree with "don’t starve yourself" above. Keep the protein intake up (0.5g per 1.0 kg of BW) and look to cut fat calories first.

Thanks guys for the support and encouragement. I’ve been battling weight all my life and I admit I do get discouraged, so the encouragement helps. I find a lot of that on these boards. I will eventually succeed. Again Thanks.
