So not only does weight training make you look and feel great as everyone already knows. But it literally saved my life this past week. I was in a very bad car accident this past week, ran into a concrete jersey wall head on going about 70mph. Every doctor I have seen has said that the muscle I have basically acted as a cushion and protected my neck/collarbone area. They also said without the muscle, I would be dead, for sure with most likely a broken neck. So all the more reason to keep up the training people!! I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for it!!

I started doing this a last week and it worked out amazing. I do my normal workouts during the week, but on Friday’s I pick out around 5-7 exercises and do 2-3 sets of 50 or more reps depending on how the muscles feel. I did it last week and it made a great burn and a great pump. Today I decided I am going to do; bicep curls, dumbbell bench, deadlifts, cross body hammer curls, tricep pushdowns, and maybe squats and overhead cable press. This is an amazing workout, you should give it a try!

So in High School I had to have shoulder surgery from all of the baseball i was playing. I have a scar from that and it is no big deal, but about a year ago I had to rehab it again and it caused everything around my shoulder to get bigger/stronger. The bigger and stronger definatly isn’t a problem, but it has gotten so much stronger than before it is starting to leave bad stretch marks around that area. Any body have any suggestions on how to get rid of these things, they are just annoying.

Yesterday I noticed that I am not a huge fan of barbells. I use them for squats and deadlifts but that is about it. I feel like the dumbbell bench gives more attention and pump to each muscle. Same thing with curls, and rows, and many other exercises. Also a lot more exercises can be performed with dumbbells than barbells. They allow more flexibility, or rotation, or contraction if wanted. Or if your right arm is stronger than your left, that is a lot easier way to tell and fix the left arm strenght. I feel bands are better than barbells as well. Bands give you such a good burn. I wouldn’t mind other opinions on this subject. What do you guys think?
