Sorry about the stagnation in the figures. It can be so frustrating, but darling, you really have to do the cardio. I know, I know. I dread it too but you want to fight the fluff, you have to do the cardio!

I just discovered that I am lactose intolerant too (and God knows what else). It's awesome that you are figuring things out, it helps when you know what could be wrong! All the best eating only potatoes, oats and brown rice! If Juls and Risat could do it, so can you!

That's weird about the gluten, though I dated a guy that had a daughter that was allergic... I think with her, though, she would get in horrible hives and bloat up in the face all crazy! So it sounds like you, thankfully, have a milder version of it, though bloating isn't very fun! I'm in agreement with the ladies above - brown rice, Ezekiel, and sweet potatoes. I toast Ezekiel for croutons - pretty yums :)

Here's to an amazing 4th week and you can bet I'll be your cardio cheerleader for the week - now sweat it out, girl!! ;)

I'm all about research, I'm a science guy.. give me the hard facts and let me make my own choices and decisions, so awesome to hear that.. Actually there is a really high percentage (around 70%) of people who are sensitive to lactose.. those who haven't developed the enzime in their youth to break it down.. cottage cheese is supposed to have less, one (fat free or full fat) has even less.. I have made my own cottage cheese too but not sure on the lactose content.. I'll have to look into that.. I love ezekiel products (www.foodforlife.com) but I am sure there are options for the gluten thing too.. those last few pounds or inches are the worst.. thinking back to my readings.. it does all come down to diet.. sounds like you are on the right track to make a strong finish here.. hope you have a great week or two!!! :)

great detective work. glad to hear that you have figured out the possible culprit to your bloating. Your hard work isn't in vain. You may not see the result currently, but you are doing your body good.

Beautiful Avi!!!!

The answer is (or could be) SPELT. I love it and it doesn't upset my stomach. It's gluten free! I understand the frustration with staying stagnant, but at least you did not gain. Wat to go on the cardio sessions and for listening to your body. Best to you on week four!!!

Way to go on being proactive to find the cause of the problem and then looking for a solution! That's awesome! Can I just say though that my body hasn't seen only 26 inches around my middle no matter where I measure since before puberty!!! You are so blessed to have a tiny figure and you are beautiful! But I understand that your goals are your own and your personal best is different from anyone else's. You are really doing great. Keep at it with the workouts, you will see a difference. In the meantime, I may adopt the advice of our fellow defluffers and try it out for myself! Be well.

Hey Belles..I am back and I missed my FTF buddies...3 more weeks..YIKES!
I am with the advice of these lovely ladies. Try limiting yourself to those types of starchy carbs and see what happens. If you are sensitive to gluten, you should see the bloat come down pretty soon. I have known some people with the lactose problem and they have to cut way back on the dairy. Cottage cheese seems to be pretty bad for lactose intolerant folks.
BUT! At least you kow what is causing it, so now it is about solutions.

Yum, Ezekial breads are great...yummy pitas too, but i am with Risat...brown rice, oats and sweetpotatoes.... and that is about it for carbs... if you make those limitations you will be shocked... It is such a great thing that you have found out what your particular hot issues are and as you go into the next weeks you should be able to harness all this info to bring it home!!! great job on the workouts too!!! :)
