Legs

November 29, 2009

Started out with leg extensions;curls and calve raises. Just three sets a little heavy but just warming up. Then moved on to hack squats. Reps of 15 after each set I either did leg extensions or leg curls and or calve raises. My legs were a defiantly feeling it nice and pumped up. After each set I was also doing a set of close handed push ups. Finished up my hack squats then did 3 sets of super heavy leg extensions and curls and calve raises. Was drinking my whey protein while I was working out it seems to work for me so far so good on that. After that went for a 3 mile walk. First mile with out the dog then the next two miles went with the dog. Took a shower and chilled out after that. Tomorrow don’t know what I’m going to do I have training to go to so don’t know if I’ll be able to fit anything in. Until next time BUILD ON!!

Back and lats

Well today was a good day in the gym. Started out with my jack3d waited for it to kick in and boy did it. Mixed my protein shake and started out with dumbell pullovers for the lats. Even went up in the weight today. Felt good did my sets and went to sitting on a decline bench rowing with the lat bar on the lower pulley to hit the lats wide/mid/narrow grip. Did those sets and the lats were swelling out good. I was doing sit ups and such but lost track of those cause I so focused on the lats and back. For the back sat on the ground lower pulley rows with the straight bar I usually row with the v-bar but changed it up a little today even on my grip for the rows with the lat bar. After those and really feeling it I moved onto standing up bent over lower pulley rows with the lat bar. It’s kinda like bent over rows with a bar bell but with the resistance of the lower pulley and the lat bar it really hits it a little bit differently. I loved it. Really felt them pulling it nice and slow and getting those muscles the pump they need and deserve. Finished the protein shake and did about 10 push ups then headed to the park. It’s just right down the road. Did some pull ups regular grip, reverse grip. Did a couple side to side facing side ways. It sounds a lot but trust me they weren’t full pull ups but I’m getting there and that’s what counts to me. I used to never even be able to move myself now I’m getting almost to the top if not to the top. Yesterday I got all the way to the top a good couple of times. Also did some hanging leg pull ups for the abs. Didn’t do many the bar was eating my hands up from the pull ups but I still did them. Coming back I sprinted about half the way back. It felt good. Legs

Well today was the day of legs. Yes the things that carry you around and people do notice if you got a nice pair of legs. Started out with leg extensions warm ups, leg curl warm ups and calve raises. I think I have to start to work on the calves a little more. Went to Hack squats next. High reps again. I had to stop on the hack squats because I felt my left knee kinda creaking in a way it shouldn’t have been creaking. But I didn’t stop I went to heavy leg extensions holding on the top. Heavy leg curls to the point where I had to stop cause they were a crying. Went to calve raises next heavy. Felt good. Went for my mile with the dog. Apparently he’s one of those dogs that eveyone loves. He’s a big dog collie kinda a lassie look. I was walking pass the school and school was getting out. The kids ofcourse started saying dog dog look at the dog. One of the teachers O that’s such a beautiful dog. Then an older lady walked up saying I know someone that would love to pet your dog. I’m thinking ok some little kid wants to pet the dog. That’s cool with me he’s loveable. Then this senior citizen about 80-90 years old comes out saying ooo I used to have a collie too and just started petting him and loving on him. So maybe I brung some good old memories today to an older woman that maybe needed a lift me up. Got to go for now. Until next time BUILD ON!!

shouldes and tri’s

Today was a great day in the gym. I started out with bar bell behind the back over the head lifts. Then moved onto bent over lower pulley pull outs followed right after each set of dumbell raises one armed with the dumbell runing north to south. Shoulders were feeling good. Was also doing ab crunches and push ups. After the shoulders I went onto tri’s First I did rope pull downs then moved onto dumbells pulling up by the side followed right after each set of upper pulley pulls with the tri’s with the d-ring. Still doing my abs. High reps, by then I was still kinda pumped up so I tried out some pull ups. I usally can’t do them with out cheating but hey I still do them. So I tried without cheating this time I surprised myself. I got almost to the top of the bar I was amazed I used not be able to even move myself. Felt great. So I rested for a minute or so and did another one trying to do two but couldn’t quite get two all the way up. Took the dog out for a walk he pissed me off the first stop off was fine he stayed right there while I did another pull up on some monkey bars amazed again that I got it up there. Went for our two mile walk or so and stopped again. Went to another pull up bar kinda thingy at the park it was a different area though. The damn dog took off. He was fine on the first pull up tried another and bam he took off had to chase him down. Needless to say he didn’t get his normal treats that he usually gets when we get back home. Maybe next time I’ll bring some treats with me so he won’t run off. That and he’s been tugging on me real bad so I’m going to have to work on that too it’s starting to affect my opposite knee. Yeah he’s a BIG dog but I love him just the same. Got to go Until next time BUILD ON!!

Chest and arms

I haven’t worked out in several days. SEVERAL DAYS….lol But I don’t have the luxury or however you spell that to stop. My job demands that I stay in shape or get into better shape. So I started up again with a great freaking work out. Started out with incline bench press getting that pump going. Felt great, went to almost flat but still at a very little incline then to decline. Did about 4-5 sets of each after the warm ups and really squeezed up top and felt every single time I had to stop. Again had to stop….lol I was doing cable side bends a little further away from the rack to hit the lower abs. Then started on decline ab crunches. For arms I started on reverse grip bar bell curls and forearm training. Then after those excurating arms feeling like they were about to pop I went to lower pulley cable curls to finish off those peeks. Continued on the forearms alternating how I was doing them and abs. Once I got done with my chest I did some push ups just to finish it off. Did about 4-5 sets of 8-10. It was dark but still went for a walk took the dog out for his much needed walk with me. I loved it he loved it and then came back and ate some steak and taters with a dollop of macronni and cheese. Drank my protein during my work out. Sipped on it through out my work out to put it more plainly. Got to go. Until next time BUILD ON!!

lats and back

November 10, 2009

Started out with dumbell pull overs. High reps of 20. Went to lower pulley rows with the lat bar but sitting up on the decline bench. About mid way up. Again high reps. For back started out with rows v-bar sitting on floor. High reps nice and slow working that back. reps of 20. Then went to bent over rows from the lower pulley with the lat bar. Yes standing up bent over rows…WOW, whew I was filling it after those. I was drinking my protein through out my work out for some reason it works better for me. Also was drinking water. Did some ab work. Side bends standing away from the upper pulley. Crunches and when the bench was in the decline position did some sit ups. Took the dog out for a 3 mile walk. Saw a lot of deer tonight it was a nice and cool walk. About to eat here real soon. should of ate probably one more meal than I did today but I feel good. Got to go also uploaded some pics today and measurements yesterday. Was a little disspointed in the measurements but I think the pictures tell it that I am making progress. chest arms and a hole bunch of sweat

Started out today with incline bench press then flat and then decline. All high reps sqeezing those pecs. Lower chest still needs some work but the rest is coming along slowly but surely you know. I took some update pics I’ll upload them probably tomorrow or so. I am probably going to get some measurments to see what’s up. Ok back on topic now. Did the chest nice and swollen it was. Moved on to arms reverse curls then lower pulley curls. Forearms didn’t do too much today I kinda petered out. For abs I did upper pulley standing out from the rack side bends. It hits the lower abs instead of standing right on top of the rack and it hitting the upper abs. It was dark but had to get the cardio in. So I went for a mile. Ran about half of it walked a bit then started running again and went into a sprint. It felt good. Got close to home and started knee raises for about 25 feet or so. Now i’m here typing this. Took the jack3d to get going and was drinking my protein during my work out. It seem to work better for me when I do that. Got to go. Until next time BUILD ON!!

Hack squats

November 4, 2009

Took my jack 3d to get going. Motor running started out with warm up with leg extensions leg curls and calve raises. Then went to hack squats. High reps did about 5-6 sets or so then finished up with heavy leg extensions curls and raises. It was getting dark so had to get going on the cardio. Did about 3 and half miles or so. I think I ran almost half of it today. I don’t know it was just like got to go got to go plus my dog was wanting to expend some of his energy. That does help if you have trouble running or get going take your dog if it’s a good size one for the walk run with you. It just really makes the difference I think. Jumped quite a few deer today quite a few bucks too. Saw a huge herd apparently they saw me cause they started running back to the woods it was kinda nice to see it. Well got to go eat real quick. Chest and arms

Took my jack 3d and sat and waited. It kicked in alright. I was ready to go and tear some weights up. I took my aplodan right before I hit the gym and mixed up my whey protein to drink through out my work out.  Started out with incline bench presses then semi flat the notch before flat and then to decline. I was doing ab crunches on the upper pulley. After the great check work out again high reps I was trying to get to 20 some I got there other times it was awful close but didn’t want to drop the bar on me. Moved on to arms. Reverse curls with the bar bell close grip about 2-3 inches apart max. It felt great really great pump with those. Then moved onto lower pulley straight bar curls wide and narrow. When I was doing those I was doing crunches on the bench…some of them I thought I was about to throw up but it still felt great and looked great in the mirror…lol After the lower pulley curls I went to work the forearms.  Wide and regular width reverse and regular curls with just the forearms. While I was doing those I was doing side bends really felt those today. After that jumped on the recumbent bike for about 20 minutes. Ate a good meal of buffalo wings and other stuff. Now it’s just time to chill. Tomorrow is shoulders and tri’s. Once I get my camera back up I’ll take some more photo’s. I think I’ll really see the difference then the last time I took them. I need to take measurements too maybe this weekend. Back and lats

It’s cold and wet outside today. But hey I didn’t have to go any where cause my gym is at my home. Started out with some Metallica and some dumbell pull overs. Did a warm up set then added the weight did 4 sets maybe 5 can’t remember reps of 20. After that I did incline lower pulley rows. I was sitting on my bench in the decline position and rowing upward. Best way I can describe it. After that, rows sitting on the ground really squeezing those back mucsles on up and down. Did 10 nice and slow then 10 faster getting that blood into the muscles. After those I went to standing bent over using the lower pulley and the lat bar and rowing with it. It felt great. Started out wide then went to narrow then narrow. I felt the wide more then the mid or narrow grip. But either way It felt real good. Again 10 nice and slow really getting those muscles pumped then 10 faster ones. Y do I do that I really don’t know it just seems to work for me. I went for about 2-3 miles with the dog after that. It was cold but I needed to get the cardio in so hey the dog needed it too. I got back ate and now I’m typing this. Got to go, Until next time BUILD ON!!
