Plyometrics, Man oh Man!

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

This is a killer workout!  For anyone wanting to shave some inches off the hip and thigh area, I would HIGHLY recommend this workout.  It is amazing and although it SUCKS to do it, I have noticed some HUGE changes in my butt since I started doing it!  It’s taking the fat off the sides and building muscle out the back, just where I want it!  Apple butt, here I come!

“The Plan”

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Just got done reading an email from my friend (and awesome figure competitor) and we set up that for the next 3 weeks, I’d keep my calories at 1300 during the week (obviously low carb, high protein) and then bump up my cals to 1800-2000 one day a week.  I’m going to stay superclean until the end of the first phase of my program.

At that point, I’ll take a cheat day and then start Phase Two of my program for the next 13 weeks, I’ll see if I need to add in additional cardio (2 times a day) to reach my goal of 130 lbs.  Since I’m not going to enter any fitness compeitions, I’m going for a weight and BF level I can MAINTAIN.

My goals for the next few months are as follows:
1.  Stick to my 1300 cals during the weekdays with 1800-2000 one day as a high day per week

2.  Drink 1 gallon of water daily

3.  Complete all my required workouts plus 40 minutes of cardio daily

4.  Reach my goal weight of 130 lbs. by June 15th

5.  When I’m finished with Phase Two of my P90X workout program, enter my story to BB Transformations of the Week!

6.  Maintain my new goal weight and continue to improve my symmetry and muscle tone and shape

7.  Refine my lagging Bodyparts

8.  Inspire friends and family who don’t know about Bodybuilding and clean eating

9.  Work towards my personal trainer certification Fall 2007

Enjoy life, raising my kids, and having fun being active with my husband!

Rededicating

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Found myself getting lax with my eating and journaling this weekend.  Woke up feeling full of carbs and bloaty!  YUCK.  Spent an hour rewriting my goals and reassessing my eating and workouts this week and I’m feeling awesome and on top of everything today.  Feels good to be back in control of my life and my future.  Gotta keep my eyes on the prize…gotta do BETTER on my eating and work HARDER everyday!!!

KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

Tip from Me:  NEVER DIP anything into a jar of peanut butter!  I usually carefully measure out 2 T. of PB and dip my apples into it.  Two days ago, I cut up a granny smith apple and started dipping it into my COSTCO-sized jar of Adams PB while I was talking on the phone.  Ended up dipping about 15 apple slices in there and estimated that I ate about TEN Tablespoons of PB.  Entered it into my fitday and turned out to be a WHOPPING 1300 calories.  Almost cried.

That started me down a whole road of guilt and cravings which I indulged in all day.  Felt like CRAP that night.

Woke up with the SAME craving and zero motivation to workout.  All I wanted was chocolate.  Then, I remembered something my awesome friend, idol, and figure competitior Roseanne said, "KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE."

SO, I SNAPPED out of it, put on my workout clothes at 9:30 am and whipped out an AWESOME 50 minute session of Turbo Jam and a whole day of superclean eating and water.

FEEL SO good after two straight days of hard workouts and clean eating again and I learned a valuable lesson.  NO MORE Peanut Butter for me and NO DIPPING out of the jar on things.  What was I thinkinG???  I won’t make that same mistake again.

Eating garbage is just NOT worth sabatoging all the hard workouts and great days of clean eating i do!  I’m so close to my goals and I’ve got to KEEP MY EYES ON THE PRIZE if I want to get there.

Great results require great sacrifices and I’m willing to make them!!

Love Bodybuilding, it ROCKS!

New Jeans

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

Bought some new lucky jeans today on a whim and they are tight for sure.  Bought them that way on purpose so I’d have a new "goal" jean.  I really liked the way they looked on my butt, I was surprised!  I’m excited that I’m finally looking better and have a hope of having a cute butt soon.  My butt is looking a little "appley" and that makes me happy:)  They were a size 29, yah!

New Progress Pics!

Saturday, March 17th, 2007

My Best friend convinced me that I needed to take some new pictures of my 60 day-progress into my program.  I was WAY hesitant, I told her that I was scared I wouldn’t see many changes and it would depress me and demotivate me!

Well, I woke up today and decided it was now or never.  Weighed in at 137.6 this morning, for a total of 12.5 pounds lost since January 1st.  That made me feel pretty good.

Then, got in the ol’ bikni and set up some shots.

I was astonished to see that I really CAN see some changes and in one of my back shots, I actually wasn’t disgusted by my butt!  (That is a miracle in and of itself!)

So, I’m starting to see some muscles show up and I’m starting to see my triceps coming in which is VERY EXCITING!

Guess all this clean food and hard work really IS paying off!  I’m wearing pants right now that are baggy and on day one I couldn’t button them up, that is super fun.

LOVING my fitday.  It is helping me even more than I could have imagined.

I’m off to cook a big batch of sweet potatoes for the next few days.  Think I need to head down and do a workout.  Haven’t done it yet and I’m feeling lazy (it’s saturday).  Today, gonna do tons of lunges and calves and see if I can’t get totally sore for tomorrow.

I LOVE BODYBUILDING!!!

PUMPKIN COTTAGE CHEESE concoction is HEAVEN!

Friday, March 16th, 2007

WHY didn’t I try this before???  I finally got around to buying canned pumpkin at the grocery store and added 1/4 cup to my cottage cheese along with 2 packets of splenda.  I am floating around the room, in HEAVEN it was so good!  Oh my goodness, I have found my new favorite snack!

Been recording every MORSEL into fitday and I am so much happier to know where I’m at at the end of the day.  And, unquestionably, it will help me with sticking to my diet 100%.

Hosted a St. Patrick’s Day party for my kids and some neighbors today and wasn’t at all tempted by all the sweet lurking in every corner.  After seeing so many good results, it isn’t as tempting for me to cheat anymore, which is nice.

TRAINING:

Today was 30 minutes on the bike trainer and 55 minutes of Legs and Back.  Felt good cause I pushed myself even harder today.  I think I’m going to work my calves again tonight cause I didn’t get even close to burning them out this morning. My kids woke up and had so much to do today that I ran out of time.

I’m off to make some dinner for my kids!

Back on FitDay and in SIZE 6 JEANS???

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

My eating was getting sloppy…even though I was journaling, I was doing too much "guesstimating" on what I was eating.  Weighed in today at 140 and decided enough was enough.  Logging everything in has helped me clean up my eating even MORE and I finally broke down and purchased the fitday full pkg. and I’m glad I did, it is super convenient when you’re watching your macros and every calorie!

In other news, went shopping today and grabbed a pair of size 10 jeans and was astonished to find they were WAY baggy.  Then, grabbed a size 8 and they were still too baggy. (at this point, I freaking out.) So I think, "would I really DARE to grab a 6?"  So, I do and they fit perfectly.

NOT ONLY is it a miracle that I can now wear a size 6, but it is an even BIGGER miracle that both the WAIST and the LEGS AND BUTT fit without a belt!  This is a MAJOR victory for me and I had to write it down to make it seem more real.  I haven’t worn a size 6 jean since elementary school, no kidding.

I LOVE BODYBUILDING, IT ROCKS!!!!!!

Tonight is my bike trainer for 40 minutes and 1 hour of power yoga.  I’m putting the kids to bed early and getting to it.  Thursdays are my only day I work out in the PM cause I love to do my yoga at night.  I slept in this morning and it was insanely wonderful.  My husband is also traveling on business and it will be nice to fill up my night with some me time.

LIFE IS GOOD WHEN YOU HAVE DISCIPLINE IN YOUR LIFE, that is what I decided today:)

Thanks to all you out there inspiring me every day to push myself even harder, eat even cleaner, lift more, sweat more, you guys rock!

Ate Crap Today, Dang it!

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

Days eating was crummy start to finish, don’t know what my freakin’ problem was!  Ate 2 granola bars, 2 pieces of chocolate, a bunch of imitaion crab meat (not terrible, but not good) a crapload of adams peanut butter.  (basically sat in front of the jar and dipped into that and then my homemade raspberry jam and couldn’t stop myself.  Finished the day off with 2 spoonfuls of vanilla ice cream. NICE.  Ate some good food in there too (like some steamed broccoli) but it doesn’t help when I’m stuffing my face with crap, too.
Tried to write all the garbage down in my food journal and calories came in around 1800, but it was all Junk.  I’m so mad at myself.

Decided I’m going back onto fitday.com starting tomorrow and i’m going to get back out my food scale.  Gotta kick myself in the butt right now.  I’ve been steadily losing and I don’t want to bounce back to my old ways.

TRAINING:

today was shoulders and arms and abs and it felt awesome.  I also did a 45 minute TurboJam kickboxing workout and that felt great.  Too bad I ate so much junk or I’d probably be pretty proud of myself right now:(

OK, tomorrow is another day so I’m going to get it out of my head and move on with clean eating again tomorrow.

Plyometrics and Legs and EGGS!

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

Hubby did Plyo with me today for the first time.  I thought he was going to puke, it was great to see him get so worked!  I loved every minute.  Then, finished up with some leg work.  Think I’ll do more tonight, cause I didn’t quite feel the burn and that bugs me!!!

STill eating very clean and drinking my water!  Fit into a new pair of "goal" size 8 lucky capris.  Yea!  Feeling good and excited for summer.

Stocked up the fridge with more clean food today and bought 3 boxes of 18 eggs today.   Between my DH and I, we’re going through about 50 eggs a week!
