Bad timing…

So I haven’t been to the gym since last Wednesday before I went out of town. My trip included some bad eating and drinking. :-) I was ready to get back in the gym once I got back, however, my gym has been closed since Monday because they are installing new equipment. They won’t reopen until Saturday morning. I could go to the gym that’s like 30 minutes away from my house, but I just don’t want to drive that far. lol. So until Saturday I am stuck with doing pushups and playing basketball..  Looking forward to pushing some iron this weekend.

Just an update…

Man it’s been a while since I last wrote in my blog…Well, things are going good for me right now. My daughter is doing well and is growing up too fast already.. I am enjoying every minute of it though.

I recently changed gyms and that was the new start I needed. My motivation to work out jumped off considerably. I’m working out 4 times a week and playing basketball on the weekends. I’ve lost about 10 lbs since the beginning of June.

My diet has been on point for the last month or so and I can really tell. I’m eating about 7 meals a day..

The last two weeks. P.S. I’m a DAD!

What up peoples….On March 2 me and my wife welcomed Miss Aliyah Renea Batts into this world. She weighed in at 6 lbs 14 oz and 20 1/4 inches long;she was also 3 weeks early. I took 2 weeks off work, and now I’m only working 12 hours a week for 4 more weeks. I am enjoying every minute I have with my baby girl. And I can honestly say that this is the best time of my life, even though I’m not getting much sleep.

Moreover, I haven’t been to the gym since uhh I don’t know when! The gym was actually the last thing I was thinking about. However, my diet was the worse during this time. Didn’t have the energy to do anything but change diapers, feed baby, and change baby, LOL!!

Things are looking better now and I’m going to try my best to get back on top of things. I’m sure my midsection will love me for it! Until next time, peace.  

 

Last week was a great week.

The best week I’ve had in a long while. Went to the gym Monday, Wednesday, played basketball Thursday, and to the gym again Friday..

And on top of that my diet was also in check! Didn’t go over 150g of carbs on any day, got good amounts of protein and fat in.

Looking foward to this week being the same!!

Can’t remember the last time…

I went to the gym two times in one week. However, yesterday’s workout killed that horrible streak! My strength has decreased because of it though. 

I decided to do chest and shoulders and had a good workout overrall. For my cardio session I warmed up for 3 mins. Then turned it up a notch and did a little HIIT.  My jog speed was 4.5, and my run speed was 9.0. I completed 10 30 second sprints, with a 30 second jog right after, then back to sprint, so on a so forth.  Then I moved on to the elliptical for 10 minutes and kept my speed above 9 the entire time.  Then I decided to jump rope. I also did 10 30 second sessions with a 30 second break.

I’m ashamed of myself.

I think it all started going down hill when I went to Vegas in late October.  I threw my diet out the window and converted back to my old self from before I started working out again.  So yesterday me and my wife took Christmas pictures, and upon review of the pictures, I noticed my cheeks were chubby again. Boy was that a wake up call! I have to get back on the right track ASAP!!! …and having a pregnant wife at home doesn’t help either…but I have more will power than that, I know I do..I’ll guess and say the last 7-8 lbs I’ve put on has been the bad weight…smh..I think this is the perfect time to test myself with Christmas being right aroud the corner..Wish me luck yall..

I need to forget about doing cardio in the morning!

Day after day I plan on getting up at 6am to do my cardio, but what happens? When the alarm goes off I hit the snooze button! Don’t get out the bed until about 7am which is too late for cardio…and almost too late to eat breakfast! ARRGGGHHH!!! I won’t give up on it yet though… Until next time, 2 fingers…

NO MORE BS!!!

The last few weeks have been horrible. Bad eating, some running, but not nearly enough! I just have no motivation at all right now. I haven’t been to the gym since this past Saturday! WTH?! My schedule is just so crazy right now. And having a pregnant wife at home isn’t making it easier.  Time for me to get my sh** together! Peace.

Just found out I will be a daddy in March!!! I can’t wait!!! Don’t care if it’s a girl or boy…Ten toes and ten fingers will be good enough for me… :-)
