FINALLY I am done with the Get Lucky 7K!!! The run went pretty well, I was able to run the entire thing without walking and I beat my time for my previous 5K @ the 5K mark this race - my only two goals for this race I do wish I would've posted a better time, but that gives me something to work towards.
I have taken today off to recover my legs from the race, but I will be getting back at it tomorrow and hitting the gym HARD - I will be changing gears and instead of focusing on just cardio, I am going to reintegrate a weight trainging routine into my workout! I am excited to begin weight lifting again, but I am looking for suggestions on how to avoid bulking up and to continue losing weight/fat... so feel free to leave a comment or send me a message with any tips!!!
It's getting down to the wire for my 7k - 4 more days!!! I am slightly nervous for the run, only because this is going to be a LONG week for me - changed my work hours 6:30am-3:00pm to be able to manage the overlap of my hockey and softball seasons; I am finishing up coaching my 10U hockey team with the district tourney this weekend and started up tryouts yesterday for the High School softball team I am coaching this spring! Still trying to squeeze in those workouts, enough sleep and stay on track with my diet
I am excited to announce that I have signed up for the Rugged Maniac 5K this September in MPLS - 3.2mile long course with 18 military style obstacles, should be a BLAST!!
Thats all I have for now - STILL GOING STRONG!
Since changing up my diet and focusing more on cardio and abdominal exercises I have finally started to see results in my physique, however, I am starting to fear that annoying plateau...
I will be running in the GET LUCKY 7K on 3/17/12, after which I would like to reincorporate a weight training routine. After a lot of thought and consideration, I decided I need another goal or CHALLENGE to shoot for after the 7K to keep me motivated... I am debating the commitment it would take to compete in a figure competition.
I have the time, the DRIVE/competitive nature, the ability to build muscle, confidence and much more... BUT I have a huge downfall when it comes to sticking to a diet/meal plan. I love lots of flavor, spice and variety when it comes to my food choices; and the competition diet just seems so BLAH and bland... not to mention I have a horrible SWEET tooth!
I guess nothing that has ever been WORTH it has ever come easy... time to suck it up and JUST DO IT!!
For the longest time I thought I could eat whatever I wanted as long as I busted my A** at the gym, turns out I was DEAD wrong!!
A little over a month ago I was weighing in at a solid 215lbs... the heaviest I have EVER been!! I have always been a thicker girl and I tend to build muscle really easily, but I had let myself go over the past 2 yrs after college.
I decided I needed to make MAJOR changes in my day to day habits - 1st things first, I stopped lifting and started to focus on cardio and ABS and I completely changed my diet... over the course of 4weeks I have dropped 13lbs!!! Now that I am finally seeing results I just want to see MORE and MORE lbs melt away - time to step it up a notch!!!
After I run a 7k on 3/17 I will be reintegrating a weight lifting routine back into my day to day workouts and I CAN.NOT.WAIT.
"stop competing with others and start competing with yourself!"
