SNOOOOOWWWWWW

Because of the tremendous amount of snow in my area, I could not get to my gym today. So instead, I worked on my chest by doing an intense amount of pushups. They may not be as good as the bench press, but they put a load on my pecs in my honest opinion.

I have to say, that’s one reason I’m glad I live in the southeast. Good job making some adaptations to your workout instead of just skipping it!

Actually heres the truth that many many BB never realize. weighted push-ups are superior to the bench press and here’s why. when your on the bench your isolated and cant move as much. but BB is about your nervous system when it comes to growing and adapting. What makes you adapt is called Nuero Muscular Activation. The more NMA the more growth. and because, for example, the squat involves more factors such as balance and there is more danger invloved. you get more NMA and growth out of them versus leg presses where you are more isolated. Moving your body through space gives you more NMA. That is why weighted push-ups involve more factors and NMA than bench press. and wide grip pull ups are better versus the lat pull downs. Notice these superior exercises all move your body through space and avoid isolation and minimal movement. I hope this makes sense, let me know what you think, and good luck with your training.
