Been a tough month and a half as far as my workouts go. Had a couple of minor surgeries on my back that kept me from lifting and working out as I had wanted and then the family went on vacation last week. Needless to say I have gained the non-good weight during this time. I can really tell it. I have much less energy than when I was working out. Lifted for the first time this morning and I could tell it had been a while since I lifted. I am going to set new goals for fat loss and see if I can make a real difference in the next couple of months. Soccer practice will be starting in the next week or so, so I have to get back in shape and do more running this season.
Hope everyone has a great 4th of July!!!!!!

I am so proud that I have done some sort of workout every morning this week. It is the first time in a long time that I haven’t let the lazy side of me win. I have even posted my workouts here on bodyspace. Now if I could just make myself increase my cardio. I get a little bit from soccer practices but I need to do a little more. Just need to find me a little bit more "me" time. Have a great weekend everybody!!! TGIF!!!!!!

Well, it’s only been about 5 months since my last blog. Guess I am over due. Like a lot of us I got out of my routine during the winter and am now trying to get back at it. Over the last month I have tried to start getting up 30 minutes early to work out at home. With the kid’s busy sports schedules and my work schedule I don’t have time to make the YMCA or a gym. So far it is working better than last year. I can tell that I have added some muscle to my upper body. I hope to get some progress pics posted in the next week or so. I am also starting to track my workouts here on BSpace. Looking forward to adding some more muscle weight and getting rid of more bodyfat. Until next time, wish me luck.

Been awhile since I have blogged. Still going at it between all the soccer practices/games, other kid activities like scouts, and work. Not much "me time" in between all that activity but I have managed to work out with the weights a couple of times each week and I am gettiing cardio from the soccer practices. I am still eating pretty clean which has been tough with the schedule. I am trying to increase my intake a little more to gain some good lean mass. Hopefully in the next couple of months my progress pics will show that. I didn’t reach my goal of 15% BF last month but considering that I started at 22% back in April/May, I think I have done pretty good. In fact, I actually was able to wear a pair of size 33 blue jeans this weekend that I know I haven’t worn in 4 years. That was definitely a motivational moment this weekend. Well, back to the grind stone. Will try and blog more often.

Happy 15th wedding anniversary to me today! Doesn’t seem like it has been 15 years but it has. Got some friends watching our kids tonight, no soccer practices, no meetings, just a good relaxing dinner of her choice of course. (Key to a good marriage)
Our schedule is so hectic right now we haven’t been able to get away just the two of us. Hopefully this fall we will be able to steal a weekend and take off to somewhere without the kids. Trying to be especially good on the diet this morning in anticipation of the dinner tonight.

Soccer practices are a big challenge this week. With 100+ temps and heat indexes in excess of 112 we are having to take a lot of water breaks and cutting back on some of the conditioning drills. The boys seem to have adapted a little better than the girls but all of the kids (and coaches) have done really well with the heat this week. Today is an off day of practice for me so I hope to get in a good workout this afternoon. Probably will grill a chicken tonight for dinner.(I probably will not even have to turn on the grill since with all this heat it will cook itself)

TGIF Body Space!!!
Today is going to be a great start to the weekend. First of all I was able to put on a pair of size 34 jeans that I haven’t been able to wear for about 4 years. YEAH!!!! I just tried them on a whim this morning and got a big surprise. I guess cleaning up my diet and increasing my cardio is really starting to pay off. My daughter comes home from camp today and my son comes home from scout camp tomorrow. It will be nice to have everyone under one roof again. Have a great weekend Body Space!!!!

Yesterday was an off day for soccer at my household. (unbelievable as it may seem) It looks like during the fall season we will get Mondays and Wednesdays off between the two teams. We may not have hit the field yesterday but we have started cardio training. I started last night with both my son(11) and daughter (9) and ran two laps around the neighborhood (probably not quite 3/4 mile). We then moved on to some wind sprints and suicides. My daughter and I were the mosted winded during this 45 minute training session. My legs were feeling it and so were my lungs but I enjoyed every minute of the pain because I was doing it with my kids and we were all out there because we wanted to be out there. No one was making us do it. We were pushing ourselves to get in better shape. Doesn’t get any better than that or does it? We will find out Wednesday night for training session #2.

Weekend started with me picking my son up from camp and then heading to my parent’s place at the beach on Friday afternoon. Saturday I got up and participated in my first 5k eventhough it was a 5k walk. (gotta start somewhere right) Finished overall in 6th or 7th place. (I got tired of waiting for them to post the unofficial results so I left before they were posted) Hopefully next year I will be running the 5k or 10k. Both my kids were excited to see me in the race and they want to do it next year as well.
Left the beach Saturday afternoon and came back home to get ready for my back to back soccer practices with my daughter’s and son’s soccer teams. I ran my daughter’s practice Sunday afternoon from 2:30 - 4:00 and then slid over and helped run my son’s practice from 4:00-6:00. Between laps around the soccer fields, windsprints, suicides and small scrimmages I definitely got in my cardio yesterday. My legs were not to happy with me this morning when I got up.
Hopefully this will help me be a little more consistent with my cardio training and help me reduce my bf and reach my goal. With practices coming up Tuesday, Thursday and Friday I am sure my legs will be fussing at me again.

Well, tomorrow we head home from 10 days of family vacation. I think I have been pretty good but I am sure the scales will tell a different story. I have survived the State games with my son’s team taking silver and my daughter’s team getting blasted out of the water. Now after a week at the beach I am looking forward to getting home where it will be easier to control my diet and also refocus on my weight training. I continue to be amazed by the will power and control of the people who use this site. Looking at the progress of you guys is inspirational to me to get back on the horse and go at it again.
