Overtraining
Recently, I've experimented with different training programs and trying to figure out what works best for my body. On Leg day, I over did it. I knew that I hadn't had enough recovery time, but I was stubborn and really wanted to complete my workout. When I made it to the ER a short while later, the ER Dr. said that too much Lactic acid had built up in my body and actually turned my blood PH acidic. Then it overcompensated and turned too alkaline. (There are soooo many symptoms that went along with this) I was lightheaded, my eyes were sensitive to light, I felt like my head was in a fog, I felt like I wanted to keep stretching my muscles so I couldn't sit down, couldn't stand up straight, I felt my heart racing, my BP skyrocketed, I had temporary memory problems, and more). While this was happening, I was also unaware that I was performing an exercise incorrectly so I sprained my lower back which caused the back of my legs from my bottom to my feet to go numb along with the back sides of my arms from my shoulders all the way to my pinkie fingers. I've spent a total of 9 days out of the gym. Tomorrow will be my first day back. I'm excited and not so stubborn when it comes to taking the recovery time that I KNOW my body needs. Changes should happen slowly. Oh yeah, all the salt water they gave me in the ER, 11 pounds of it stayed with me!! 1 part of sodium hold 180 parts of water..... I had 4 bags of that crap and wasn't even dehydrated! So much for being sodium concious! Live and learn...
Your a mess, it takes some time to really ramp up a body tolerance to even attempt two a day splits and dual sessions of 45 minutes of cardio. really the greatest results come from strict diet and really learning to listen to your body. Also if you are training hard it is imperative to take in large amounts of water a gallon + this ensures your body flushes harmful compounds as they build up. And load up on the antixidant foods, broccolli, strawberries blue berries etc. Nothng wrong with a little bit of lactic accid every now and then. But listen to your body and if you don't know the proper form for an exercise especially ones involving lower back like, Squat, Deadlift, Front Squat, Overhead Squat, Snatch, Clean, Clean and Jerk...these are all movements you can get seriously injuried easily it takes lots of work to learn these Olympic compound movements. Far more complicated than a crunch or a curl. Keep it up, sorry you injured yourself and got sick but it doesn't really suprise me. It often takes suffering to learn valued lessons.
I like your hardworking attitude, but ditto on being careful. I didn't see that you were doing 2-a-days. But if so, I don't see the reason unless a person is in the final week(s) before a competition & cutting the last remaining BF%.
Good luck getting back at it.
Hville: I wasn't doing 2 a day splits. I never even metioned that. I've been seriously training for about a year. Taking classes and I've worked up 2 this level (dropping 50 pounds along the way). I Drink over 2 Liters of water during my workouts, drink acai berry juice daily, I've had my antioxidant levels checked (which are way above average) , I was NOT dehydrated, I know all about proper diet...It took a lot out of me to swallow my pride and post that blog. I only did it so other people might learn from it. I don't want deconstructive criticism from anyone. So, if you're an "Expert", and you don't have anything nice to say besides (It really doesn't surprise me *With your nose in the air*), then don't say anything at all....if that's possible for you... THANK YOU
This sounds like a great blog, I have problems with overtraining. Luckily I think my body recovers fast enough for little damage. Two weeks ago I was really bored and went to the gym 3 times. Hope you feel better and good luck.
yikes that sucks! Hope life is treating ya better. I have done somehting similar before and just figured I was low on calories. But wow that is crazy! Good luck with that. But with your dedication the weight will come off fast, so no worries!
