Yesterday I weighed myself and discovered that I have reached one of my three fitness goals. I have made it down to 160 lbs. The next goal was to get my waist down to 32 inches and I am 1/2 inch away from meeting that one. The third goal of dropping my body fat down to 10% is the next big focus.

Just finished day one of a four week workout plan I am trying. Two of the biggest things about it are the rest time in between sets (120 seconds) and the fact that every set you take to failure. I got done with the workout in 30 minutes, which seemed kind of quick, but when I was done I had a really good pump in my chest arms back and calves. Day one is in the books.

I did not want to go to the gym today, but I talked myself into it. Ended up having a really good workout. Worked my shoulders and traps today, and ended with 30 minutes of interval stairmaster cardio. It felt good.

I decided to stop the high carb/low carb diet. It is kind of a pain in the butt trying to plan for the two different meal plans. I am going to go back to just eating consistantly clean. Gonna shoot for eating 1500 cals daily, 50% protein, 35% carbs, and 15% fat. And every day I’m taking 3g of flax oil caps and 3g of fish oil caps. We’ll see how this goes.

I’ve been consistantly following my new eating plan for 4 weeks now. I feel like I have gotten a little leaner. I can see it a little bit in my progress pictures, but the results are not coming as quickly as I was expecting. I know it’s a process but I think that I am going to drop my calorie intake down a little bit but keep all the macro percentages the same and continue eating clean and working out and see where that takes me. If I start losing too fast I can always bump the intake back up a bit. Also I think I am going to cut my off diet meal down to once every other week. That should help a bit too.
New plan:
Calories 1500
high carb day: 188g protein 150g carbs 17g fat
low carb day: 188g protein 75g carbs 50g fat
Trying to consistantly work out 6 days a week, 30 minutes of cardio 2 days, 45 minutes 1 day and 15 hard minutes the other 3 days, plus lifting 5 days.
Here goes!

Today was a little discouraging. Went to have my body fat checked and it was the same as it was when I started. I know the calipers can be off by a couple % but it was still discouraging. Ive been fighting off the urge to eat a bunch of crap today. I have mostly fought off the urge, I downgraded to splurging on a couple of cold beers instead of a big unhealthy meal. Not great, but better than the alternative. I’m not going to be having an off meal this week so this is pretty much it for splurging.

Had a rough eating day yesterday. We went camping with some friends and I ate clean the first day and then went off the diet the second afternoon. Started off clean on the way home on sunday but gave in to a moment of weakness on the way home. Today I’m back on track, motivation is high, and I’m feeling good.

It’s been a good week for the new way of eating. Had a great cheat meal last Friday night at Buffalo Wild Wings. Planned on drinking a bunch of beer, but after all the anticipation I only ended up having 3. I seem to be adjusting to this clean eating, cause my stomach was a little angry with me the next day. Oh well. Every day it gets easier and easier to resist junk food. In fact, today I picked up a pizza for my parents and it didn’t even bother me to smell it and not eat any of it.
Got my body fat checked again and it’s about 1% lower. Pretty excited about that. My next obstacle is going to be a camping trip this weekend. I think what I am going to do is to eat clean all day friday, then eat clean till dinner on saturday then have a cheat meal Saturday night, and try to get completely back on track on Sunday. This is the goal, but we will see how it goes.

Getting ready to take a meal off of the new plan. Gonna go to Buffalo Wild Wings and eat 12 wings and drink a couple beers. Then right back on track. All things considered I should only go over my calories by about 200 calories and about 25 g of fat.

Starting a strict meal plan this week. Starting this out at 170 lbs and roughly 16% body fat according to a trainer at 24 hr fitness. A friend is helping me develop this. I’m taking in 1700 calories a day. Broken down it will consist of six meals, 213g of protein, (50%) 147g of carbs, (35%) and 28g of fat.(15 %) I will be allowing myself one cheat meal a week and I am cutting alcohol out except at that meal. Feeling really good about this.
