Rest and Recovery ??

What do y’all think about taking 1 week off of a 4 day week weight training program every 4 weeks to let your body recover fully ?  Do you think you should continue a cardio program or drop it or down grade it or up it during that week off of weights ? My goals are to drop fat and keep strength and Muscle mass.

  1. Growing-up Says:

In order to lower your BF% you need to lower the intake and increase the expenditure. It is said that your body consumes more fat - energy when you keep your Heart Rate in the range of 65% .. 75% of your teoretical Max Heart Rate (220 - your age).

Abour resting, I never workout every single day, instead I do different activities, like running certain days, weight training in a different day, and martial arts training in a different day, so that I leave enough time for the muscle to switch from heavy lifting to explosive to resistance training.

I must add that in order for the muscles to grow you need at least 24 hours of rest.
