I see changes

March 26, 2008

I’ve been training over the last 2 months with a lot more intensity, I’ve changed my whey protein & I’ve managed to stick to my diet more than I’ve ever done before (still room to improve).

After all the size I put on, I’m now beginning to see some changes in the shape of my muscles. Thanks to the constant pressure/encouragement from my gym buddy “MarkP21″ I’m finally starting to get some definition in my shoulders & arms.

The only thing I’m really down about at the moment is that I can’t really do much cardio, due to a knee injury playing rugby. This seriously hindering me from getting rid of the dreaded stomach fat!!!!!

I’m hoping that in the next few weeks I can get over this & start to seriously “cut-up”.

I may even get the confidence to put some pictures up!!!!!

GAME ON !!!!!

January 14, 2008

WOW !!!! I seriously can’t believe I have put on 17lbs in a little over 4 months, with only a slight increase in my BF %.I’ve been getting some great comments from friends & even complete strangers & it’s definitely given me the motivation to work harder come “GYM TIME”.

After the break-up of an 8year relationship the gym has become my retreat, somewhere to get away from it all. With an enormous amount of encouragement from my buddy/training partner (markP21) I have been able to train like an animal @ times & achieve the gains I have in size & strength. As me & Mark like to say “Bring the Noise!!” – (Film quote – HOT FUZZ)

I’ve started to pay a lot more attention to my diet over the last few months & my new aim is to lay off the alcohol. This should help me in my goal of getting ripped up !!!!!

In order to do this I need to learn from my past mistakes when attempting this, (usually not eating enough & putting my body in starvation mode). Hopefully this time I will be successful.

Both me & my buddy train clean, no juice. With both of us getting bigger & increasingly lifting more & more, the same comments keep arising (in & out of the gym). “What are you on”, “You got to be on ‘roids”, “what’s best to take” & my new favourite “Can you get hold of some stuff for me”.

Once we reply, we usually get met with the same “lying BA%*@!s” look !!!!For me, I just take it as a compliment (of sorts), to the fact that I’m obviously making good gains. Mark however, takes it as a huge disrespect to the massive amount of time & effort he puts in. I can see his point, because if I said, “yes I do juice”, people would be like “I knew that’s what it was” & not put the gains down to hard work & dedication. This goes hand in hand with my pet hate in the gym, people who have never really trained before in there lives start at the gym & within a few weeks they are getting juiced up. Nice try lads, but maybe you want to learn how to train & eat first, before stepping on to the dark side!I’m sure this “phenomenon” has been around for as long as people can remember, but it just seems to be a new craze going around my locality at the moment. It is always quite amusing though when you hear them complaining that they are getting stronger but can’t put any size on.

Any way, now it’s time for some seriously painful hard work. Getting up early to do some cardio before work. Getting those extra few, hard burning reps out. Staying away from the alcohol & the weekend takeaways, but the end result will hopefully be worth it.

Summer trip to IBIZA, BRING IT ON !!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was a wicked session in the gym (Chest day)
My cousin Chris was making me push myself real hard, getting those pesky last few reps out on each set!!
<u />
Workout:
Incline Press (smith machine) =  12,10,8,8,8
Flat Press DB’s = 10,10,8,8
Flat fly’s supersetted with Pullover’s = 12,12,12 / 12,12,12
Cable cross-overs = 15,15,15,15 (2 sets normal & 2 sets from the bottom)
Ab’s - Leg raises 12,12,12
         Crunches 12,12,12
My chest was sooooo pumped, it felt like my t-shirt was 5 sizes too small !!
No weights tomorrow, probably just do some cardio.

The Start

June 6, 2007

Welcome to my first blog !

I’ve been training on & off for a number of years now & I’ve started to become annoyed with myself as other people join the gym & pass me by getting bigger & stronger.
I’ve decided it’s time to fight back!
Training better & harder, along with eating correctly is the name of the game.
The short term goals that I’ve set myself all revolve around the end of August.
17th August = Beach Trip to Newquay with the lads
25th August = Start of the new Rugby Season.
I’ve done some planning & bought my supplements. Now for the HARD WORK !!!!!!
I shall post as much as I can, as often as I can.
Anybody out there that wants to offer any advise or encouragement, please do so.
Hopefully I can get some photos loaded up soon, as well.
