WOW !!!! I seriously can’t believe I have put on 17lbs in a little over 4 months, with only a slight increase in my BF %.I’ve been getting some great comments from friends & even complete strangers & it’s definitely given me the motivation to work harder come “GYM TIME”.
After the break-up of an 8year relationship the gym has become my retreat, somewhere to get away from it all. With an enormous amount of encouragement from my buddy/training partner (markP21) I have been able to train like an animal @ times & achieve the gains I have in size & strength. As me & Mark like to say “Bring the Noise!!” – (Film quote – HOT FUZZ)
I’ve started to pay a lot more attention to my diet over the last few months & my new aim is to lay off the alcohol. This should help me in my goal of getting ripped up !!!!!
In order to do this I need to learn from my past mistakes when attempting this, (usually not eating enough & putting my body in starvation mode). Hopefully this time I will be successful.
Both me & my buddy train clean, no juice. With both of us getting bigger & increasingly lifting more & more, the same comments keep arising (in & out of the gym). “What are you on”, “You got to be on ‘roids”, “what’s best to take” & my new favourite “Can you get hold of some stuff for me”.
Once we reply, we usually get met with the same “lying BA%*@!s” look !!!!For me, I just take it as a compliment (of sorts), to the fact that I’m obviously making good gains. Mark however, takes it as a huge disrespect to the massive amount of time & effort he puts in. I can see his point, because if I said, “yes I do juice”, people would be like “I knew that’s what it was” & not put the gains down to hard work & dedication. This goes hand in hand with my pet hate in the gym, people who have never really trained before in there lives start at the gym & within a few weeks they are getting juiced up. Nice try lads, but maybe you want to learn how to train & eat first, before stepping on to the dark side!I’m sure this “phenomenon” has been around for as long as people can remember, but it just seems to be a new craze going around my locality at the moment. It is always quite amusing though when you hear them complaining that they are getting stronger but can’t put any size on.
Any way, now it’s time for some seriously painful hard work. Getting up early to do some cardio before work. Getting those extra few, hard burning reps out. Staying away from the alcohol & the weekend takeaways, but the end result will hopefully be worth it.
Summer trip to IBIZA, BRING IT ON !!!!!!!!!
