Hey Bodyspace,
It’s me, BC Bound. I know a lot of you have asking yourselves, "What the heck ever happened to that guy?" But then again, I’ve gone for so long, that I’m even surprised my account still works, LOL! But I’m still here, and I’m ashamed to say that the only thing that’s grown on me is my hair.
I’ve had to give up training like I was, because of a serious illness in my family. I’ve pretty much had to dedicate my life to taking care of this family member, so working out, just like a lot of other things in my life, had to be set aside. But I was doing some reading over the weekend, and I realized that even in the midst of this tragedy, I had allowed myself to develop a serious case of learned helplessness. It has really been a deterrent to me getting myself back in the gym, and I just have to make the effort to get to where I want to be.
I’m about 40lbs. off from where I want to be in about six months, as I am going to make a push for the CFL camps in 2010. So I have a great deal of work left to do. But sitting around and moping about things and cirumstances in my life isn’t going to help me get there. So I have to get it done.
This is my journey. It’s going to be hard, and there are going to be some things that really hurt to look at, mostly when I look at myself, not only in a physical sense, but mentally as well. But in order to get where I want to be, I have to go through this point, and it’s only going to make me stronger for the tests to come.
So fasten your safety belts and lose your inhibitions, I know it’s going to be a rough ride.

What’s up Bodyspace,
Yes, I’m still alive, and yes, I’m still playing ball, I’ve just been very busy planning my wedding and doing things outside of football, so I haven’t had the time to update you on my training or anything. Thanks for all your messages and support, it means a great deal to me….
Recently, I was approached about a revolutionary product/business opportunity called Max International, and their flagship product, "Max GXL." The GXL is short for, Glutathione Accelerator, and for those of you who don’t know, Glutathione is one of the body’s most powerful anti-oxidents. It also provides you with steady amounts of energy throughtout the day. So with these things in mind, I took a two-week sample to try it out, and see wether or not it held up to all the hype. So I decided that I would share my non-biased review with you the bodyspace community.
Since this is the first day, and I just had my AM dosage (it’s 6:45 where I am, what am I doing up?) I haven’t really seen any effects as of yet, but I have workouts coming later on in the day, and I’ll let you know how I’m feeling.

Hey Bodyspace,
It’s me, BC Bound, filling you in on what’s been going on with me. I know it’s been a while, and you’re probably wondering what’s going on, but I just thought take a sec to get you all up-to-date.
I haven’t found an agent yet, but I’m narrowing it down to a few. The frontrunner right now is Lyle Masnikoff, in Florida. He’s a really great guy, and has been a HUGE help to me. So far, he’s supplied me with, get this…..THE 2005 NFL Europe’s Strength, Nutrition, and Conditioning Program, along with TWO, NFL Offensive playbooks!
Let me tell you, this program in extremely in-depth, and it involves principles that I’ve never even utilized before! The wokrouts are intense, abut I can feel myself progressing as far as my strength, agility, endurance, and my recovery time. I haven’t been able to really implement the nutrition plan, but I’ll start that next week…..
To those people who think football players aren’t the brightest, let me tell you, you’re so very wrong! In university, my offensive playbook was about 100-pages long. Which is pretty detailed. But, one of these NFL Offensive playbooks is 414 PAGES LONG! That’s just the offense! But I guess, it’s not that bad, considering that’s your full-time job….Nonetheless, it still takes a great deal of mental capacity to learn a Pro-style offense. So I’ll be using my free-time to learn and study that.
I’m hoping to hear something very soon, but all I can do is workout, study, and dedicate myself to making this dream a reality….
Keep pushing yourselves, bodyspace, and make your dreams a reality too.

Hey Bodyspace,
Due to some scheduling issues, my Scout Camp combine tryout has been moved from May 10th to June 1st…..I missed the registration deadline, and June 1st will be the next date that I can make it to. We’ll be in Washington DC, at the Old Redskins Park, so that’ll be neat. I may get a chance to see my cousin while I’m out there. (He plays DE for the Redskins….)
Just thought that I’d let you know what was going on. Still training hard, and trying to make all the right decisions to be ready for that day. Wish me luck!!!!
Keep it movin’!

Hey Bodyspace,
It’s me, writing another post in the blog. We’re about five days out from the combine, and this week couldn’t get anymore hectic. Tonight, I’ll speaking at an Arbonne International meeting for National Vice President Maxine King. (If you haven’t heard of the company, go check them out www.arbonne.com), on the importance of detoxifying the body.
Today will also be my last full workout before the combine. The key here will be to get one last pump and push with the muscles, and to train for the 225 Bench press on Saturday.
I also just found out that there are two sessions on Saturday, a 1PM and a 7AM session. (I’m really not feeling that 7AM start time, I’m just not a morning person…..not to mention that I’ll be traveling down to Akron, OH the night before…..YIKES!) Please, please, please GOD don’t let me be in that 7AM session.
Oh well, whatever…..I’m not really nervous about going to the combine, I know I’m going to do well. The rest of the week will mostly consist of static and dynamic stretching and prep work on the tests and drills. (I’m even stretching my fingers to prep for the hand span test.)
A cool plus for me is that my wingspan is measured, and will count towards my size test grade. (This combine works on a 1 to 10 grading scale in categorizes of SIZE, STRENGTH, SPEED, QUICKNESS. Everyone who scores an 8.5 or better overall will receive an invitation to workout privately for NFL scouts!) Me not being the tallest guy, my wingspan and handspan will help me to score higher. I’m 5′8", and I have a 6′1" and my hands measure almost 9" from pinky to thumb, which is bigger than several guys who worked out at the CFL combine who were bigger than me.
The vertical, 40 yard dash, and shuttle are going to shoot my score through the roof. The forty isn’t FAT timed, so I’ll have an advantage there as well. Not to mention that it’s my best event. The vertical as well, with me jumping consistantly over 35", so it shows the scouts I can get up with the bigger guys.
The bench press was beginning to be an issue at the beginning of the year, but my training of the rear delts, lats, and triceps has taken much of the stress off of my chest. If I can get ten reps, I’ll be a shoe-in for the 8.5 score. (I’ll get it anyway, but doing that will only shoot the score higher.)
Anyways, gotta go, eating my second meal of the day.
Take care Bodyspace, and keep it movin’

Hey Bodyspace,
I know, I haven’t been on here in a while, but I’ve been mad busy trying to tie up all of the loose ends before I leave for Akron, OH on May 9-10th. (Hey, maybe I can stay at LeBron James’ house……LOL!) We’ll be working out at Kent State University’s Indoor Facility, which is both a plus and a negative, because we’ll be inside from the elements, but we’ll be on astroturf, and I haven’t played on that stuff since 2002. So I’m trying to find shoes to run my routes in, and all that kinda stuff too.
I finished up my last full week of training this week, leaving me with only Monday for hitting the weights, and the rest of the week, I’ll be running the drills only. I feel pretty good about my improvements and even better about my chances of making a roster. I’m way stronger, much faster, and a lot more confident in my own abilities, not to mention less-worried about the competition, on both sides of the ball. Who knows, I may get a shot with an NFL team…….(Now that would be something.)
I’ll be back on here this week, giving you all of the inside scoop on my preparations leading up to Akron. I got a new digital camera, so I’ll be sure to get plenty of pictures, (if I run into some big-name players, I’ll try to get some pics with them too…..after I beat them.)
Keep it movin’

Hey Bodyspace,
I just got in from the gym, and I hit 315 twice RAW! Not bad for a guy who weighs 163lbs, eh? The spring is officially here, and that means I can hit the track again! Get out and run some routes on the turf, so I’ll most definately be looking to take advantage of this weather we’ve been having….
Also, I got an email the other day with a video that I found very inspirational. It’s about a guy name Jamie Gillentine. In August of 2007, Jamie was paralyzed from the 6th vertabrae down, leaving him with only limited mobility in his arms. The series of events that follows in this video are just awe-inspiring. He serves as a testament of the human spirit’s struggle to achieve the impossible…..Give it a look.

What’s Up, Bodyspace!
As some of you may know, I recently opened a personal training business. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to be playing football, but this will be my off-season job….LOL! (I’m laughing, because to me, there really isn’t an off-season…..) But I’ve got a young group of guys that I’m working with to prepare them for their first seasons of high school football. So I wrote them a group email today, and this was the subject line:
Throughout my life, which hasn’t been very long, I’ve learned that there are two groups of people in the world. I know that we categorize ourselves in many different ways, (i.e. black/white, male/female, rich/poor, etc.) but when you really break it down, you only really have these two groups of people, co-existing together. They are the ones who live in fear, and the ones who walk in faith.
The ones of live in fear are constantly failing at something, but it’s really because they never truly try. They are afraid of not only what happens if they fail, but what if, God forbid, they succeed? They work mundane jobs when they don’t have to, do so-so in school, and put their dreams on the back-burner, all to lead an ordinary, play-it-safe, don’t take risks, life. But, in the back of their minds, the seeds of greatness that God has planted in each and every one of us are struggling to take root, as if they are trying to grow the concrete.
Then there are those who walk in faith. They are the ones you see playing football on a Sunday afternoon, or dunking a basketball during prime time, or even just smiling leading a normal life. The people who walk in faith, aren’t the ones cowering wondering about whether or not they’ll have a job in the morning, because they work for themselves, they always seem to have time to enjoy the good things in life while the fear-livers are nose to the grindstone, 24/7. These people have learned one key thing in life, and I couldn’t train you in anything else unless I taught you this, It’s okay to fail…..JUST AS LONG AS YOU TRY, WITH A HERCULEAN EFFORT! My college football coach used to always say, "Hey, if you make a mistake, make it big! I’m not going to chew you out for that, we can come in make the adjustments we need to, why? Because the effort is there….." Don’t be afraid to fail, because if you afraid to fail, you’ll definitely be afraid to succeed. That fear will get you just what you were afraid of the whole time, failure…..Give life your ALL, boys…because you truly only live once.
Now faith can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. People have faith in God, faith in themselves, faith in each other, or faith in their favorite teams. But what i’m telling each of you is to have faith in yourselves, and in the abilities that God has blessed you with, no matter what they are. That faith will carry you a long way. It will make you stronger, faster, more agile, tougher, it will make life a little bit easier to handle. I know that we’re having our big SPARQ challenge at the end of the summer, and that they’re going to be some great performances when we get there, but I probably won’t get to be there personally, because I’ll be playing in a CFL regular season game somewhere. But that doesn’t change the fact that a challenge has been issued….so work hard, have faith in the system that I’ve given you, and get ready to be the best football players and people, you can be at this point and time in your lives.
Faith can carry you to the stars, but fear can’t carry you anywhere but down….
So, which group do you belong in? Are you a faith-walker, or a fear-liver? I know which one I am…..

Hey Bodyspace,
I know that we’ve all been pushing up some heavy weights throughout the years, and doing that can be really tough on the joints, especially the shoulders. So I stumbled upon this warm-up/cool-down for your shoulder girdle. Try out it! It’s under my favorite body building videos….
