If you’re a hardgainer like me, I would say check it out, it is a great training guide and the workouts, when done correctly, kick ass.

so I’ve been hitting the gym pretty hard the past month and I am seeing some great changes… except for one area, right below the belly button there is this annoying piece of fat…. really making it hard for the lower abs to bust through.

I am trying to put on mass and therefore I am eating everything (very clean mind you), but everything I can get my hands on. I am sure some intense cardio is the answer here to strip away the remaining fat, but I don’t want to risk losing any weight or muscle mass.

Does anyone out there have any hints, tips, ideas, how to shed that last little bit.

Cheers!

Day three into the madness that I have committed to meant it was time to man up and have a killer leg workout. I have had the luxury since day one of having pretty strong legs. I attribute that to the fact that I stand 6ft tall, but claim to have about 4ft of torso. So in the small distance from my hips to my heels, I have been able to push a lot of weight, yesterday proved no different. I haven’t hit my legs with an honest workout for a few weeks, so I knew going into this I was asking for some potential pain.

I was able to put in a honest workout that left me walking slowly all the way home. It felt great to get back on the squat rack and bust out some deep squats and I was impressed with my ability to follow that up with a hard leg press routine that I capped off with 1 set of 3 reps of 450lbs. Weight like that the first day in has really set the bar high for where I should be, and want to be, in a few weeks/months.

I’ve been starting my workouts with a good solid jog/run on the treadmill. I find it gets my heart rate up and gets the blood flowing to my entire body. A simple 5 minutes at a high speed gets me into the zone and ready to attack the weights.

I know it is still very early days, and this is a long road, but I feel I am on the right track and I can’t wait to look back at these first few days and understand how far I have come.

well here we go, this is the first post of many I am sure. I have entered into a commitment to myself to kick my ass into gear and finally push my body to see where I can take it.

day 1 back at the gym yesterday was eye opening in that I was weaker than weak while working out my chest and I could feel my muscles give out and tire much quicker than I am used to. I finished up the workout with a stint on the treadmill and it was a pretty terrible showing. Understanding that our muscles need oxygen to work I need to kick my ass into some serious cardiovascular work over the next few weeks, to support the muscle growth that I am expecting.

I will be drowning myself in as much literature and information as possible to make sure I am as educated as possible on muscle growth and maintainance and I will incorporate that into reaching my goals.

With this BodySpace page and with these blogs I have started a challenge to one of my bestfriends Jordy, we have challenged each other with our own personal goals, and the winner gets not only some bragging rights but a nice lump of cash as well.

In closing of blog #1 I would like to wish both Jordy and myself the best of luck. Enough messing around, it is time to take this serious and see where my hard work and effort can take my body.

cheers!
