Continue refocusing

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Did lower body workout today; first time in over a week.  Glad to get back to it.  Been doing cardio only for the last several days.  Cleaner eating so far this week - hopefully that can last for awhile.  Water intake really up!  Still trying to lose the abdomen area, but continue to strengthen upper and lower.  Moving forward…

Refocused…

An unusual knot on the back of my knee caused me to see the doc.  BP was high, most likely the stress of the past few weeks with my best friend’s illness and passing, and missed meds.  Weight was up also.  So far, 2 days of clean(er) eating and added water intake.  Still considering consulting a personal trainer for a meal plan geared toward weight loss.  Still doing the BFL model for workouts.  Got to get back to the progress I was making some time ago. Moving forward again…

I made it…

Got the strength to make it through the services for my friend.  A great celebration of a well-lived life.  Friends and family are moving forward with promises to keep in touch.  Some of us are definitely going to make that happen. Saw some childhood friends over the weekend.  Food everywhere!!! But as of today, I’m back on the routine. Thanks for the support of my friends on this site!

Saying goodbye…

Happy resurrection Sunday.  Today also begins the services for my friend/brother that passed away. Been a long week, worked out well, but haven’t eaten right, and the next couple of days will be longer. Saying goodbye is never easy, but we’re going to get through it; mourn some, but celebrate a life that was well-lived…

It’s beginning-part II

Immediately after leaving the gym from a great workout, the news came that my friend had passed away. Been sort of wandering around since that time, but support and prayers from friends and BS friends are helping me to cope.  He suffered from many of the weight-related illness that we know about and are trying to get under control.  I will miss him greatly, but God knows the best.  It’ll be a long week…

It’s beginning…

Had a good week of workouts-very sore (the good kind) and moving slowly. The journey of life continues:  sat with my friend yesterday as slowly his systems are attacking his body, and he’s experiencing the last of this thing called life.  Means of sustaining his life have been removed.  I am usually the rock in our circle of friends; very little emotion, there for everybody else, keep the mood light as possible, etc.  This time the rock is about to crumble…
