Dr. Visit today

BP up  and had gained 3 lbs. (sho’ hope it’s muscle weight).  Had to convince doc to give me 3 weeks before upping meds.  Could be the atro-phex and the coffee (any bb.com members have any news on this?).  Either way, got to do better. Back tension had me at the chiro. also.  Tomorrow:  Back on the cardio and better eating.

BFL Chall 7 - Week 3

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Couldn’t sleep so decided to blog.  Did an afternoon cardio session on yestereday because I slept through the early a.m. session. The rest was needed.  Don’t really like afternoon workouts, but this one was especially good, so I was glad the day wasn’t totally wasted.  Doctor check-up time later today and yearly physical coming up (UGGH!).  Like most guys, not crazy about doctors, but have learned that it’s best to go than not to go.  Several friends of my age group have been diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer; that’s a wake-up call especially for black men who are higher risk.  Hoping my progress is evident in vital stats.  Eating plan not perfect, but has been better the last two days than the last 2 weeks.  Today will be lower body on BFL; knee is hurting, but will give it my best.  BB.com posters have been very motivating as they progress on their goals.  Received some encouraging comments from bb.com friends and others.  If anyone has any info on their experiences with Atro-phex, let me know.  It’s getting close to workout time (different time zone than bb.com).  Moving forward…

Back on it!

It’s Monday and I was back on BFL today.  Worked upper body extensively and so far on a good nutrition day (it’s early though).  My plan is to return to the gym only for cardio and abs this afternoon.  Hate afternoon workouts, though.  Gotta do it!

July 2008 update

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Slacked on workouts this week due to death in the family.  Got motivated this a.m. after surfing bb.com. and did some circuit training and some cardio.  I took the dreaded shirt-off photo today - gotta get the nerve to post.  But, it is as it is and gives me something to work toward.  I still notice some positive changes, but not as much or as fast as I would like.  Trying Isopure protein for awhile instead of the whey for a different taste.  Reviewing my training and nutrition to try to take it to the next level in coming weeks…
