I am a natural athlete.
Last weekend I went to the Southern States pool party and had a blast! We hung out, danced, I ate my prepared food….and generally had a great time. We also took a couple of pictures and they were posted on Facebook. I had heard a few comments that there is no way I can get that lean and be natural. Well, I am not on any steroids, or anything else that can make you lean unnaturally and have the drug test from Figure Universe to prove it. This was taken at registration the Thursday before the Friday show.

To top it off, last week I finally had some bloodwork done, as I just haven’t felt like myself lately ..extremely tired to the point that existing had a painful undertone to it…I just couldn’t wake up or feel good at all. It turns out that I have hypothyroidism. Some common side effects of this condition are extreme fatigue and weight gain, to name only a few. If I can get shredded, naturally AND have low thyroid hormone levels….you too can get it done too.:)

are you kidding me, i hated to read that blog. people have no idea what you go thur to maintain what you have or me for that matter. im so sorry you felt you had to post the drug form and defend your workouts and your diet. when your number one as you are im sure there are those who want your crown but to suggest anything like steroids is crossing the line. Im sorry Ava that people are mean, i think i even asked you that question only to find the answer all to easy but so hard to do, training, cardio, diet, and low body fat gets to look like you. you look awesome and i am proud of you. train hard, play harder. jeff

People hate. When they hate on you, that means you’re doing something good. Brush your shoulders and keep on moving.

Ava,
You don’t have to prove anything to anyone especially haters. You’re looking awesome and all your fans know the truth. Hugs Vinny

i’ve read that hyperthyroid is very common for women. I think you are amazing that you can be ripped and have this condition. Seriously it’s very hard to be defind with a thyroid issue wether over or under active. You are so inspirational to me and other women (no doubt) that whatever the few, who wish had half the body and looks you have, say is of no real importance. Remember the 20-60-20 rule. 60% of people try and train and try to be active. 20%can go either way. Become obese and lazy and say excercise doesn’t work blah blah blah and the rest are like you. ELITE. very few of the 60% every become elite and you should be proud because the majority of us on this site fall into that category and you are on the top…xo Deme

People will always have something to say. People by nature are prone to exhibit negative dispositions that manifest themselves as jealousy and envy. I’ve learned not to worry about what people say. Just do your thing Ava. You are a natural athlete and you are doing your thing; so don’t let anyone discourage or deter you from excelling beyond the limits of your greatest dreams. Its in you to do it… so do it.

Unfortunately we live in a world where people have the tendency to hate. It’s awful to think when you’re doing something good with yourself still you must endure negativity…completely sucks…girl…like I tell my son all the time…"you just do you…don’t worry about what he, she, it or whomever wants to say!" You have anything to prove! Keep on moving towards your dreams!!!!

Hey Eva,
So sorry that you haven’t been feeling better lately! People are so negative sometimes, and they try to bring other down by making false statements about others. Don’t let them get you down.
As far as the hypothyroid, I am one of the few men that suffer from this condition and know to well about the problems that come along with this! You will want to get a good Endo doctor and get lots of rest.
But you are truly a inspiration to all person(not just women) suffering from Hypothyroidism. You accomplish so much even with a hypothyroid. Sometimes it feel like you can’t do it! But you have shown us that it can be done!!!
Thanks, And my hopes is that you get treated and all things will get better.

Sorry to hear about your hypothyroidism. I want to share the following with you because my doctors told me nothing. Because you are a competitive female athlete you may have pushed your thyroid into this state: http://www.heractivelife.com/women/comment
Soy (which is in so many whey products) is a #1 ENEMY lol- read up on it! as well as uncooked broccoli, cauliflaur and brussel sprouts. I stick to rice protein and spinach/ bell peppers. Have pasta, breads in small quantities. Green tea is an another enemy because it saps you of iron, i still drink it I just make sure to take iron.:
Some things that help me in addition to synthroid: iron- take at least 4 hrs after synthriod, vit C/Magnesium- for sluggishness; wheatgrass, EPO.

People don’t want to admit that if they put the doughnut down, they might look slightly more like you.
