NEW and IMPROVED Protein Pancakes!
Here is my NEWER version of protein pancakes. They are so good, I am actually eating one right now, but couldn’t wait to finish so I could share this recipe.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal
1/2 scoop whey protein, I like chocolate
4 egg whites
1 Tablespoon Flax Seeds
A dash of Coconut Oil
A dash of Splenda
1/4 cup Sugar Free Maple Syrup
Mix:
All ingredients (except Coconut Oil, Splenda and Syrup) in a large bowl until blended well.
Lightly grease pan evenly with Coconut Oil
Heat:
Pour in a frying pan over Medium-High Heat
Cook:
Until all edges are bubbling and the center is taunt, flip and cook other side until crispy.
Remove from heat, sprinkle Splenda and top with syrup.
ENJOY!

If you use liquid eggs they get much puffier like real panckes… try it…
Just omit your regular eggs and use liquid eggs, like egg beaters (any brand that has the yellow liquid eggs, NOT egg whites)
It is amazing how puffy they get.

Interesting..I just love them the way they are…and eggs in a box freak me out a bit..lol..but thanks for sharing a different spin on it.:)

I think I would bite the bullet and use a spoonful of real maple syrup..(my neighbor makes it!) ..otherwise..sounds fantastic. Great pic btw

Thank you…yea, if I had the will power to use a "spoonful" of anything that could be yummy! lolol…

Yes, you can even make "real" pancakes by using half protein powder and half bisquick (I’ve gone so far as using 3/4 protein powder and 1/4 bisquick and have it work…depends on the protein powder, too). Chocolate is by FAR the best!

Love it, great recipe.
I usually buy “Quick Scrambled” egg whites, which come with 4 egg whites per container, measured and ready to go. This just saves me time and makes my life that much easier.
For a little variety, I’ve come across milled flax seed with blueberry in it. I’ll use this instead of straight flax seeds for a little change up, but besides that I keep the recipe as is.

I’ll give this a try. You were the one that clarified that I need protein AND carbohydrates pre- and post-workout and I’ve beeing doing protein pancakes (alternating with my protein oatmeal) since.

I am definitely going to make these tomorrow. I’m dieting down now, and welcome something different. Would be great snack at work in AM.

Here is the protien pancake recipe I use and it is delicious, I’ll try yours…
Make sure you use no sugar syrup (try E.D. Smith)
The recipe is as follows:
1 cup of whole grain oats
6 egg whites
1 cup of fat free cottage cheese
1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of splenda
(you can add a pinch of cinnimon if you like)
Mix all this together in a blender then fry up like regular pancakes (use Pam on the frying pan)
Serve and add no sugar syrup with a few mixed berries like strawberries or blueberries. Very tasty.
This will feed 2 people, If you are alone just put the rest in the fridge and eat it the next day after you microwave it.
