After Body For Life …

Hi everyone, its’ been awhile since I last posted an update.

After completing the Body for Life challenge at the start of February I made the classic mistake …  :(   I ate and ate and just to make sure, I ate some more … I managed to put on 5 lbs in the course of a week!!!  Not to worry though, I have things under control again.  :)

My plans over the next couple weeks are to determine my nutrition requirements to maintain my weight.  I’ll then start increasing my calorie intake to gain lean, quality muscle mass using a 4 day a week program outlined in the January edition of Muscle & Fitness.

Anyhoo, I should get going …  :)  

Day 83

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Hi everyone, today was an excellent day.  Knowing that I’ve come nearly to the end of the Body for Life challenge (Day 84 is a day off!!) really feels amazing.  This challenge has been a very rewarding experience.  I’d like to thank everyone who encouraged me along the way (esp. Cleo  :)   ).

My cardio workout went quite well.  I completed 35 min on the elliptical machine with my heart rate averaging around 140 bpm.

My nutrition was on track as well (2600 cal, 1.58 g/kg protein, 4.76 g/kg carbs, 39 g fibre & 18.2% fat).

Days 81 & 82

Hi everyone,  the past couple days have been hectic, but I’ve been able to get my workouts in.

Yesterday I completed my cardio workout on the elliptical machine while watching 24.  Today I was able to complete my lower body workout (quads, hamstrings and calves) using the equipment I have at home.

Both days I’ve been within my target nutrition range … looking forward to Day 84!!!  :)

Day 80

Hi everyone, today was great!!  It was my wife’s birthday and my little one and I gave her a family birthday party.  :)

I was able to head to the gym this morning and completed my upper body workout.

This evening I was able to eat in moderation (even had some awesome carrot cake  :) ).  While I’m not 100% sure what my calorie intake was, I think it was pretty close to my target range.

Anyhoo, I should get going …
