Day 79

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

Hi everyone, today wasn’t an active day for me at all.  Basically I was working from home on the computer for ~12 h today …

I did my workout on the elliptical machine for a half hour.  :)   I need to continue to make that a priority.

My nutrition was on track as well.  I managed to have 6 small meals (2597 cal, 1.47 g/kg protein, 4.65 g/kg carbs, 48 g fibre & 22.3% fat).

Anyhoo, I should get going.

Day 78

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Hi everyone, today was well … just one of those days.  My 7 year old got sick last night and basically I stayed home until my wife came home from work making sure he was OK.

Afterwards I went to the gym and completed my lower body workout (Warm-up - Bike - 12 min, Stretch - 12 min, Weights - 55 min, ABS - 20 min).  Overall it was an energizing workout. 

My nutrition was a bit off.  I lost track of time and skipped one of my meals.  Stats are as follows:  1865 cal, 1.37 g/kg protein, 3.69 g/kg carbs, 27 g fibre, 16.0% fat.

Anyhoo, onwards and upwards  …  :)

Day 77

Hi everyone, today was supposed to be a day off from the challenge … but with Day 84 so close, I couldn’t resist.  :)   As well, I know tomorrow will be a challenge to meet my nutritional targets as we are going to a friend’s place for supper.  :)

I had an intense elliptical workout for a half hour while watching the hockey game.

My nutrition was on track as well (2461 cal, 1.62 g/kg protein, 4.23 g/kg carbs, 39 g fibre & 20.6% fat).

Anyhoo, I should get going …

Day 76

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Hi everyone, today was one of those days I just felt energized.  I just wish I could figure out what has given me the extra boost so I could duplicate it …  :)

My workout went quite well.  I was on the elliptical machine for a half hour at an intensity of 140 to 150 bpm.

My nutrition was within my target (2536 cal, 1.61 g/kg protein, 4.30 g/kg carbs, 47 g fibre & 21.0% fat).

Hi everyone, today I was able to accomplish my goals for the day.

I’m just about to start my upper body workout (chest, shoulders, back, triceps & biceps).

My nutrition is exactly where I want it to be.  (2603 cal, 1.54 g/kg protein, 4.50 g/kg carbs, 50 g fibre & 20.7% fat).

Day 74

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Hi everyone, today went great!!!

I completed my elliptical workout this evening (45 minutes on the elliptical) while watching 24.  Its’ amazing how fast time flies while watching that show.  I kept my heart rate at a relatively consistent 135 bpm to 140 bpm.

My nutrition has gone quite well.  I was able to have 6 small meals spaced relatively evenly throughout the day (2544 cal, 1.49 g/kg protein, 4.59 g/kg carbs, 44 g fibre & 19.5% fat).

Anyhoo, I should get going to play cars with my boy …  :)

Day 73

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Hi everyone, I didn’t have a chance to post yesterday’s results, so here they are … I’m finding myself driven being that I’m nearly done my Body For Life Challenge!!!!  :)

My lower body workout (quads, hamstrings, calves & abs) was great!! :)   The stats are as follows:  Sets - 25, Reps - 332, Volume - 40, 360 lb.

As well, my nutrition was on target (1989 cal, 1.66 g/kg protein, 3.16 g/kg carbs, 35 g fibre & 18.2% fat).

Day 72

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Hi everyone, I’m posting yesterday’s results.  Fortunately I was able to get myself back on track. 

I completed both the Day 71 and 72 workouts.  The weight portion of the workout focussed on Chest, Shoulders, Back, Triceps & Biceps.  The workout took 1 h to complete and the stats are as follows:  Sets - 35, Reps - 400 & Volume - 20,845 lb.  Afterwards I was able to complete my cardio workout on the elliptical machine for 20 min.  I found my energy level increasing as I worked out … kinda cool  :)

My nutrition was right where I wanted it:  2063 cal, 1.56 g/kg protein, 3.44 g/kg carbs, 33 g fibre & 23.5% fat.

Anyhoo, I should get going …

Day 70 & 71

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

Hi everyone, yesterday I just had one of those days  :(

I had taken off Day 70 as planned and was going to complete an upper body workout yesterday.  In the evening I just didn’t have any energy … likely as a result of working too much.  So needless to say, I skipped the workout and then I proceeded to gorge myself … disappointing  :(

My plan for today is to get back at it by completing both my upper body and cardio workouts and to eat like I did for the first 70 days of the challenge.  I only have a couple weeks to go and I feel like there is so much more I can accomplish!!

Day 68 and 69

Hi everyone. The past couple days at work have been hectic and I hadn’t had a chance to post my Day 68 info until now … thankfully I have enough equipment at home to workout when I need to.

Yesterday my calorie consumption was a bit over target (2725 cal, 1.64 g/kg protein, 4.73 g/kg carbs, 50 g fibre & 21.0% fat).  I was able to complete a thorough (albeit abbreviated) lower body workout.

Today I was able to complete my half hour cardio workout on the elliptical machine.  As well, my nutrition was on target (2311 cal, 1.54 g/kg protein, 3.76 g/kg carbs, 32 g fibre & 22.3% fat).

Anyhoo, have a good one.
